I thought this a good article about the problems with the ruffly $400 million dollar fine against Trump from a New York court. Some on the left are happy with the verdict, hoping it hurts Trump greatly. the more pain inflected upon Trump the happier they are. That is a short sighted view though.

In the overall picture, this crazy ruling hurts all Americans, those in New York in particular. It is a ruling that makes little sense and it is likely to scare real-estate investors from investing into building projects that create a great many jobs, and creates homes for people to live in and work in.

I hope the verdict is overturned. That would be good for everyone. With so much political hate for Trump on the left though, I'm not certain that will happen.

I can only speak for myself, but I think the unelected administrative state has gotten completely out of hand with 0 accountability, and I prefer the people you can vote in or out are actually the ones running things, instead of people whose names you don't even know, but who hate you. For a lot of others, it's just wanting less of a planned economy and less war, and for others still it's someone whose priority is the US and the "international community" is secondary, rather than the establishment candidates for whom the opposite is true. Nonstop foreign aid, nonstop war and nonstop migration while our own country rots is getting pretty old. With Trump there's at least some resistance to an enelected bureaucracy pushing at an open door to roll over everybody.

And as for cults, just read through the lefty responses to a judge ordering him to pay $355 million + interest for something that 100% of real estate developers do by giving the highest valuation of his properties and paid back the loans.
