Personally I don't think it makes a difference. We have translation apps on phones. It's not a big issue anymore.

I can't speak Spanish to save my life. I took a few classes during high school and college. It just doesn't click with me. I will learn it then forget it. I will die if I get trapped in South America or South Florida.

I’m also not a “speak English or die” type person but even cucked countries like UK and Canada have official language/s.

I think an effort should be made to make most Americans bilingual(through education, not immigration) with emphasis on the languages of our continent and hemisphere.

Not just an elective in high school. I think kids should be taking one of it not all of Spanish, Portuguese and French every year they are in school.

I’m sure that’s not in the cards for this admin or for a country that has a lot of kids who struggle with just the one language, but food for future thought.

When the country was founded, it made sense not to have an official language. Needed every warm body possible to build a nation, can't be pissing off and alienating a portion of the budding population. Didn't make sense for the next couple hundred years as various cultures and races are constantly being brought in for various needs. Why the fuck does it make sense now?
