Exactly. And they both are trying to score political points. I for one disdain the politicization of absolutely everything. But it's Curry's right to make a political statement if he'd like. He used the invitation to grandstand, so the invitation was withdrawn.

That's just how politics are. It's cut throat. You can either play the game or you can't. Trump has an unorthodox style we've never seen, and the left is still in shock and angry from the election.

Although it's a similar situation on the surface, it's difficult to compare the TT abstention to Steph's. Steph's is based on Trump as an individual, and his individual desire to not validate Trump. With TT it was a lot more general, and in his statement anyway, not partisan:

“I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.

“This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct oppostition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.

“Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.


“This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT”

Also, keeping it short and to the point and not dragging it on and talking about it for months and using it as an earworm for the entire fanbase and beyond in order to promote himself through his abstention, that also differentiates it largely.

I'm also not even trying to be shitty about your religion, I'm just confused about what your God does and what he doesn't. Nobody really has a clear answer for it.

Like I said, I'm a little off.. this OU Baylor game has my heart about to explode.

You're right that he didn't use the actual term, I just kind of merged Rip's take and Trump's actions, which sort of run parallel. I mean, even if Steph is trashing Trump on Twitter (man, do I hate Twitter), wouldn't it be a better look to say "it's his right, hopefully he will come around as we MAGA, etc."? I understand his absolute refusal to take the high road is what some people love about him, but I'm not one of them. Trump acting like he does gives Curry attention and legitimacy he would never have otherwise.

Its all good dude. There is a LOT of information and a lot of people that have agendas. I'll send you a pm explaining basic Christian doctrine. People argue over fringe aspects like baptism etc. That don't matter much, but the sin problem is pretty universal in approach.

I'll give it a read tomorrow so I can give it my full attention. I'm stress eating green curry, sexting hos, and doing lines over this fucking football game. If we win (and hell yeah just scored a touchdown) I'm going to go out and party lol.
