Trump campaign illegally begged foreign politicians for money

No, no, he's lulling them. He's about to take over this entire thing.

The more I read about Hillary and Trump, the more depressed I become.

It's like choosing between a rectal exam without lube by Frankenmountain and organizing a Pride Festival in Al-Raqqa.

Yes, he is nearly done. Hold your breath.

By the way, the train is fine.

Well he can't ask the Saudi's for donations. Hilary's had their balls slapping her double chins since the campaign began;)

I'm sure there is a perfectly valid explanation for all of this, after all Trump can do no wrong. He's going to make America great again by doing this and that.

Alleging, we'll see what happens but it's a bad election either way.

Source?

I had to delete a thread that alleged this because it quoted a retracted article, and it didn't cite any evidence, but just a casual statement by some Saudi prince which nobody else in the world quoted, and which the publishers of the article couldn't substantiate: resulting in the retraction.

Layman with a question here...why doesn't he fund his own campaign? He's a billionaire, surely he can bear its costs?

The 2012 campaigns burnt 1.7 billion USD. Why would Trump burn his money in a losing effort?

I recall reading a piece a while back that commented that even Trump would struggle to mount the necessary liquidity to cope with the monumental financial burdens of a general election (whereas the primaries are very low-rent by comparison).

I wasn't totally convinced, so I've wondered the same thing as you. But then...since I've already arrived at the conclusion from all the available data that Trump is a conman running this campaign purely out of a long-term financial self-interest, I've sort of made up my mind what my presumption is.

I had no idea elections were that costly.

Only in the US of A.

The German Bundestagswahl for 2013 cost around 150 Million Euro (around 165 million USD). If you consider the USA are 3.5 as large in terms of inhabitants, you would expect a sum somewhere around 550 million. But this is about the most important political office in the world and it is all or nothing. Thus tre figure does not really surprise me. I mean they still only spend 5 bucks to get your vote.

You think he's determined to increase his wealth through all this? Funny, that's one thing I immediately crossed off my list of reasons why he joined the presidential race. It seemed kinda logical that he's not looking to satiate his monetary appetites, being that he's already super rich. I figured he was hungry for executive powers and all that.

Perhaps I underestimated the insanity of human greed.

When you look at the expenses, it's hard not to ponder just how much actual ideological integrity they can exhibit when they finally enter the office, being that they practically owe the entire presidency to their funders.

Yeah, it's freaking nuts. It's one reason that people get behind someone like Trump. When you see enough headlines talking about how strong the correlation is between the candidate who spends the most money and the winner, and how this money always comes from donations out of the pockets of major corporations, unions, or ultrawealthy individuals like the Koch brothers or Soros, suddenly if you don't have much money, you're like...

...and it's totally valid. People are waking up to the oligarchy. I've used that word since I was coming out of high school, neophyte that I was, and everyone just wrote me off as a dumb kid. Fifteen years down the road and Jimmy Carter is using the word and now I'm hearing it in grocery aisles from people without a full set of teeth. It's surreal, but I don't mind it a bit.

Because, really, WTF is this shit?

That is 100% absolutely the reason I believe he entered the race. He never intended to (or believed he could) win. We already have a "whistleblower" to that truth from his original campaign strategy panel from the very first planning room before he launched his campaign bid. He was shooting for 12% of the primary vote and 2nd place. This was a PR campaign for his brand (and his reality show) from Day 1.

Great post. Wish my old man was alive so I could point him this way and thus disprove his theory that all Americans are blind to what's happening around them.
