What they have done and are doing to public schools is truly tragic. These voucher programs taking money from public schools so rich parents get to subsidize their private school is bad policy. And then they turn around and say look how bad public schools are! The difference is public school is for everyone. They can't deny a kid for a learning disability, mental or physical handicap, etc.

NC GOP votes no to additional funds for public schools but then rams through a bill before they lose their super majority to fund private school vouchers with just shy of half a billion dollars.

States are not legally obligated to work with ICE, there is no federal legal obligation for states or local jurisdictions to use their time and resources to help with immigration enforcement, and I think you’d have a hard time arguing that such a blanket refusal constitutes harboring under the law.

Red states will probably be worse off though and they’re the ones most in support. Hell, Oklahoma is 49 in education and they’re discussing forcing kids to pray and read bibles. That will certainly help make them smarter.
