Opinion Trump and the UFC - Neutral Take...

Seems like there should be a megathread for bitching about or being horny for the guy showing up to the fights. I couldn't give a shit less if he goes or if fighters talk to him. Odd thing to worry about either way.

It's been a hell of a journey from the early days. And whether people like it or not, Trump has been there from pretty much the beginning.

For it was a new niche popular sport that he hoped would stave off his casino bankruptcies.

I didn't vote, because I am completely disillusioned with the American left, but I also do not endorse the republican right.

I think it is a mistake to turn the UFC into a platform for political propaganda. Dana is free to support Trump and they are free to give him free seats, as well as to anyone else they want. And they can and should show him in attendance, as they do with celebrities, and even emphasize his presence, as they have done. But as a company, many people involved, including the fighters, might not align with that message or actively showing a trailer for the candidate. They are the stars of the show, and they might not represent the politics put forth. Even if a minority is in that position, it generates polarization.

This is selfish and disrespectful to fighters: the company represents not only the will of the owners, but the people that work and compete there. It was a polarizing and needless avowal of Trump.

Leaving freedom for any fighter to express their views is good; making the show a vehicle of support for one side of a very divisive bipartisan political system, is not. I would think the exact same thing regardless of the politician, party, or position.

Flame away...

Can you post a link to your thread denouncing the NFL when they got political during the first Trump presidency?

I can't find it.

More like why are all the dorks who cried about the NBA & NFL being political light for social issues now drooling that Trump gets an official walkout with the entire RNC at every UFC card now.

Things that make you go hmmmmm

I wish there was a liberal fighter left that was a good troll.

They could of grabbed the mic and walked from the blue corner to the red corner then
yelled into the mic " Sorry I was just doing my Tulsi Gabbard impression!"

Or since Rogan is such a big fan of all things comedy when he came to do his octagon interview thanked him for getting up from Trump's lap.

Odd thing to worry about IMO.

Why not worry about Cuban, the NBA and other people being in China's pocket for years while
denouncing far less egregious things in the US.

This is why Popovich had a freakin stroke.

If Hollywood, musicians, and journalists can, then why shouldn’t athletes and sports figures?

That's the point. People don't read what I said.

Dana, and the athletes have every right to support whoever they want. And they can show Trump, invite him, etc.

But when the organization itself turns itself into a propaganda machine, that's different, because they represent all of their workers and fanbase, and even though the majority might be pro-Trump, many might not.

The same would apply if they did it for Harris or any leftist President.

Lol "Polarizing". It is only polarizing if YOU think it is. Why not change your perspective instead and think of the UFC as a place for everyone to just come together, uniting, to watch some fun fights. No need to look at this through a political lens. If you are offended by someone's presence, it is probably a you problem.

How many fucking times do I have to repeat myself because others don't know how to read.

Trump's presence is not what is an issue, or them showing him as they show other celebrities that attend the event.

For anyone who has driven a standard transmission for any period of time, you know that even in 'neutral' how easy it is to grind gears.

Unpartisan post is unpartisan.

He’s a clown who doesn’t have a fucking clue. Don’t expect him to acknowledge reality.

Two dimwits who think like emotional women. Don't understand economics or geopolitics. Don't own a business. Probably don't know how your electricity is powered or how the food you eat makes it to your table. Listening to imbeciles like you someone who doesn't know any better would think there's no difference in policy between Trump and Kamala when the difference is huge. Especially in terms of border and energy policy which drastically lowers energy cost for American citizens which bleeds into cost of logistics and food. You clowns are coping hard like the rest of the celebrities from the epstein/Diddy lists and mentally ill liberals who think a man is a woman. Hold this L camera holders.
