Trump and the UFC - Neutral Take...

War Room in ... 1, 2, 3 ...
Here, I'll help

I didn't vote, because I am completely disillusioned with the American left, but I also do not endorse the republican right.
But by abstaining, you have endorsed them. Sorry to tell you but what's coming will be as much your fault as who voted for it

Years ago, people would drool at the prospect of a POTUS showing up to an event, let alone being an avid fan and supporter of the sport
What a stupid goal to have for the president, but Americans' stupid goals were well on display this cycle

I was in the category of voting for ANYBODY BUT TRUMP, but the guy won and we as Americans have to accept that. I just hope he does a great job now, and I don't mind at all if he shows up at UFC fights. It's the only thing he supports that I agree with!
He didn’t just show up , he was given an entire celebratory segment with music and visuals and wwe style entrances and lots of patting on the backs lol .. it’s a bit different to just acknowledging he’s in the room with the other celebrities. Nobody is saying he shouldn’t be allowed in the building or that he is wrong for supporting the UFC.

It’s fucking stupid and it’s attracting the wrong crowd to the sport. I have a friend who is a trump bootlicker and just became a ufc fan ( not mma as a whole) ….the only thing he asks about a fighter is whether said fighter likes trump or not. Not even asking about that fighter’s record or background (bjj/wreslin/striking).

I couldn’t care less about politics and I don’t hate or love a guy I don’t even know. But yeah…. i wish Dana had kept our beloved sport clean and away fron fucking politics. Leave that shit to cnn, fox etc….

I remember when the right used to complain about politics in sports.

Lol "Polarizing". It is only polarizing if YOU think it is. Why not change your perspective instead and think of the UFC as a place for everyone to just come together, uniting, to watch some fun fights. No need to look at this through a political lens. If you are offended by someone's presence, it is probably a you problem.

I think it is a mistake to turn the UFC into a platform for political propaganda. Dana is free to support Trump and they are free to give him free seats, as well as to anyone else they want. And they can and should show him in attendance, as they do with celebrities, and even emphasize his presence, as they have done. But as a company, many people involved, including the fighters, might not align with that message or actively showing a trailer for the candidate. They are the stars of the show, and they might not represent the politics put forth. Even if a minority is in that position, it generates polarization.

This is selfish and disrespectful to fighters: the company represents not only the will of the owners, but the people that work and compete there. It was a polarizing and needless avowal of Trump.

Leaving freedom for any fighter to express their views is good; making the show a vehicle of support for one side of a very divisive bipartisan political system, is not. I would think the exact same thing regardless of the politician, party, or position.

Flame away...
Before it was just a quick look on the walkouts and one crowd cam shot, that was fine I guess(basically got slightly more attention compared to the average celebrity at an event)
But the mega glazing got ridiculous at the Jersey card earlier this year, they would show his reaction after every single fight lol

Tonight was annoying as hell with it too, probably the most egregious shit yet and it's insane how they promote politicians more than their own fighters

100% this he should be welcome its the whole show that comes with him that is stupid

I hate politics in all sports. As someone who voted for Trump three times, I greatly enjoyed his entrance though.

As someone who hates politics in sports, you make a good point regarding the political platform. But, I don't think they should allow fighters to express their views either.

Not American, would undoubtedly have voted for him if I was, but totally agree. Entertainment is there to escape from politics.
We all hate the lunatic celebrities pushing their socialist messaging in movies and interviews, and this isn't really any different from the other side.

Politics nor religion have any business in sports.
I also hate national anthems at sporting events that are not the Olympics. So fucking dumb.

It's all fun and games until Trump says we need to shut down America over the bird flu

You imbeciles forget why we elected Biden to get out of the pandemic

Nice way of saying you don't stand for anything.

people who voted for Trump voted for policy.

Energy policy, border policy, inflation, foreign policy, crime and cost of living. Anyone who voted based on these issues didn't have to be left or right, they just had to have common sense.

Only a low iq celebrity who lives in a gated community or an emotional woman could have not voted for Trump.

Elon used to be a leftist but even he understood what was at stake here. I remember growing up democrats were a real thing and were a lot like like Trump is today.

The democrat party today has been completely hijacked by mentally ill liberals who don't understand how their electricity is powered.

Energy: The US is making more energy now than ever before. Second largest producer in the world.

Border: Trump did absolutely NOTHING to tamp down illegal immigration during his previous administration. The administration was able to enact Title 42 due to Covid, and hence, they were able to outright turn people back at the border. That explains the decrease in numbers that was (and still is) touted. He didn't even build the wall. All they did was make up the notion of "migrant crime", which isn't really a thing. Agree, we need to do something about the border, but Trump doesn't really represent an actionable approach to this. Good luck deporting millions of people without an absolute humanitarian and socio-political crisis with our neighbor to the south.

Inflation: This is what happens when you shut the economy down and stroke a check for 13 billion. Not saying Trump had many options here, but it's disingenuous and moronic to pretend that Biden caused inflation. A lot of this “inflation” is straight up price gouging. I actually hope Trump does something about this. Our economy actually had a remarkable recovery from Covid by most metrics; stock market, unemployment, wages, GDP, etc. The Dems did a piss poor job of highlighting this, and they paid for it. The stone cold FACT is, our economy is strong. Our poorest state (Mississippi) has a comparable GDP per capita to European nations like Germany. Our bigger states like Cali and Texas have larger GDPs outright than countries like India and Canada, respectively.

The mentally ill liberals you speak of represent the extreme end of the spectrum, much like there's mentally ill, bible thumping, QAnon believing election deniers on the far right. The truth is, many Republican and Democratic senators/ congressman are generally reasonable and rationale people that don't support sex changes for kids and actually want abortion to be available within reason.

Your mindset that only "low IQ celebs or emotional women" voted for Kamala is also part of the problem. You really have to be drinking some strong Koolaid to paint with such broad strokes. Lots of people vote for lots of reasons. As if every Trump voter is up to snuff on policy; many just voted for the cult of personality.

I agree with TS. It's cool that trump goes to ufc fights and it's fun to see him there but the ufc needs to drop the politics

eh let them learn there lesson the 2028 election will be a repeat of 2020 lol.. republicans will quickly sour on the public once again

I failed to see any propaganda on the broadcast last night.

The UFC and many fighters as well as fans seem to be in competition to see how far they can get Trumps dick down their throat. I don’t even live in the US and don’t pay any attention to have an opinion on the politics side of things but the shit gets old when you’re just trying to watch some fights.

I think its awesome when Trump attends! The guy is a classic. He actually loved combat sports, so its cool to see the US President enjoying a fight like the rest of us.

And nothing says more than the amount of fighters that genuinely like him. They love him and his fighting spirit.

I find it all very gauche and hamfisted tbh. Makes a sport that already gets enough flack for being 'dumb' look down right braindead tbh. Trump is a privileged delusional little pussy who has duped the special needs right into thinking he's some man's man. It's genuinely bizarre to see him prancing around, he hasn't fought in any wars, successfully changed anything for the better or even be a down to earth good guy. All he's done is convince absolute melts to destroy their own lives for the benefit of him and his rich buddies. I'm not American so I don't give a fuck what you guys do, but Jesus Christ when real life is more of a satire than the onion you've fucked up.
