And it all feels very disingenuous because of the power dynamic at play when it comes to the fighters. Like they have to jerk off Trump and would probably face repercussions otherwise.

Sports as PR numbers for any sort of politics is both irritating and something we all really have to live with. Going further than giving a royal/politician a moment of screentime and an introudctory comment should not happen. But happens. The full blown entrance was probably going too far (even though UFC kinda has more reason to suck up to Trump than many other sports orgs have to many other political agendas/persons)

Unlike most I don't pretend to understand economic or foreign policy at the international level. I can't, it isn't what I do for a living and I lack the time to do a deep dive into those areas of study. Besides it would likely take years to understand all the nuance at play. With that said...

The reasons I find the left unappealing are:

• Pronouns and gender debates
• I want boys out of girls sports and I want politicians who will actively and openly comment on the ridiculousness of this idea.
• I don't want to hear a peep about race. I know racism exists, but it will always exist as there will always be bad people. I don't view racism as institutionalized, but rather the result of foul evil individuals.
• I support the police even though there are some really bad apples and I wish they could do better as a unit.
• Academia, particularly the Ivy league types, are gigantic babies who have forgotten that generally speaking the blue collar people on this planet make this all work on a day to day basis.
• They utterly failed with regards to protecting our border and ensuring only a legal path to citizenship
• Every single voter should be required to supply a valid government issued ID.
• Get DEI out of every level of government. It is a cancer.
• I want us more actively involved in energy production.

I'll be watching the republicans carefully. The president, house, and senate are flying under their banner and they better get moving or I will switch in a heartbeat. No excuses. None. I don't want to hear a peep about why they can't get stuff done. The nice thing about this time in history is how easy it is to log success or failure. I know what I expect and they simply better get it done. No mf'ing excuses.

The reasons I find the right unappealing:

• Many appear to be just as downright stupid as their democratic counterparts.
• Inability to grasp the fundamentals of science
• Conspiratorial viewpoints
• Overt religious ties within their politics. I want all religion removed from government, every single bit of it. Government is the not the place for your just as dumb as the next dumb fucks views.

I think this is a good read. Yet, even if a relatively small minority of the workers, viewers, and fighters in the UFC are democrat leaning, this was needlessly polarizing. I seriously had a friend tonight who walked out of the fights, and said he's done with the UFC. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people, who feel very strongly politically, would take such stances. It seems needlessly confrontational and taking one side of a very divisive issue.

Throwing in the towel on being a UFC fan over Trump is as retarded as throwing in the towel on being an NFL fan over players taking a knee back in the Kaepernick days.
