Opinion Trump administration in talks to send Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador prisons

If they are delivered to El Salvador alive and taken care of, the the US has treated them well, and it's stupid to compare us to Iran. If you wish to compare El Salvador to Iran, go ahead, doesn't really matter to me, I'll wait for your verification any illegals transferred there from the USA were tortured to death, especially for a transgression as innocuous as defying a mandatory head-scarf law.

Thanks for the genuine answer.

I don't necessarily assume an innocent would be tortured to death by the state as much as other inmates, but if anyone dies in prison at all then that is as much down to El Salvador as it is the United States for condemning them to that fate.

The transgression of having a tattoo is absolutely on par with a mandatory head-scarf law, but I too will wait until we actually find out someone isn't making it out of that jail alive.

Until then, I guess.

You didn't give two fucks about scores of Jan 6th-ers being held for years with no trial.
Which ones were held for years without charge or trial that you find offensive? Names please.
Oh', some foreign gang members though? Here comes the lawyer hat...
Except the government didn't prove that who it deported were gang members. I see no reason to not speed through trials and hearings and prove who is a gang member or criminal before deporting. Hire more judges and make it quicker if it's too slow.

Give it a rest. Like I said, transparent. You know that there were plenty of people held without trial for years, but now want to demand specific names of people to make it so. Keep thinking you're fooling people with these pathetic tactics, though. Nobody sees what you're doing...

By what metric? You not believing them? LOL.

Names. Links. You're the one making a claim, so back it up.

By the court cases the administration lost. If there's evidence of gang membership or criminal activity, the administration is free to share how it arrived at those conclusions.

Apparently you're convinced your cult leader is a wizard and can magically tell if someone is a gang member by just looking at them or seeing their name.

Judge now assessing the Trump actions that sent people to El Salvador super max prison has put out this written comment on the Trump lawyers filings trying to substantiate their decision and explain why it was just and legal to do...

InB4 magats start saying Judge is trying to protect terrorists or the like.

What a cowardly set of conservative justices
"They didn't do what I, a rabid leftist, wanted. Cowards!"

Won't somebody think of the gang members?

And you wonder why you lose...

Did the founding fathers intend for the AEA to be used on drug gangs?
Were the founding fathers dealing with them at this scale?

Keep defending drug gangs though. It's a real good look.

They fought a war with transnational criminals, aka the Barbary Wars.

At any rate, you are conceding that the law was not intended to fight criminal organizations.

I'm defending due process. I'll never understand a Canadian who devotes his life to ensuring America casts aside due process.

It's all nonsense
Being in a gang doesn't suspend due process
First of various other, eh, exceptions to come I suppose

"Illegal alien" criminal organizations. Sorry, I think it fits.
I'm defending due process.
No, you're defending gang members. You, much like your leftist brethren, are not consistent on that issue whatsoever. They could be hanging Jan 6ers in the town square, and you would not give two fucks.

When are you leftists gonna understand that you have no credibility, since you've tossed out all of your supposed "principles" over the last ten years? You're completely full of shit and everyone sees it. You're just children screaming and hollering when shit doesn't go your way. Nothing more.

It is funny that the Supreme Court grudgingly admitted that due process is required even though they did a lot to avoid actually addressing the fundamental problem: abuse of the AEA and the fact that the administration is asking for a free pass for prior fuckups and illegal actions.
"Illegal alien" criminal organizations. Sorry, I think it fits.
Where does it say in the law that it can be applied against criminal organizations?

I don't support the death penalty, and I don't recall many capital crimes on Jan 6. Once again, you fling shit at the wall because your brain is about the size of a pea.

That's a lot of projection there, Mr. Canada. Ranting and raving about "leftists" while claiming they're children screaming and hollering. I almost feel bad for how pathetic of a human you are. Mayhaps one day someone will be a saint and love your broken soul :)

All this bemoaning about due process.. It's funny I don't remember the outrage when Obama was doing expedited removals. But guess going to bat for gang members to own the chuds isn't above the left. They've done it before.

Quite a few left-leaning groups and voting blocs fought Obama on expedited deportations. That law is also extremely limited in scope, unlike the AEA.

Once again, a lame attempt to deflect from the obviously unconstitutional character of the current executive. What happened to all those Trumpers arguing that the AEA doesn't require a court hearing and due process? Surely that wasn't you, right?

*yawn* The supreme court verified it isn't unconstitutional.

Yeah, yeah, tell it to Reddit. Your game doesn't work in here.

No, they were silent on the constitutionality of the law. What they weren't silent was on the fact that Trump had violated the requirements of the law. Here's the majoritty opinion:

"AEA detainees must receive notice after the date of this order that they are subject to removal under the Act. The notice must be afforded within a reasonable time and in such a manner as will allow them to actually seek habeas relief in the proper venue before such removal occurs"

Remind everyone, did Trump do this when using the law?

Yeah, yeah, tell it to Reddit. You're game doesn't work in here.
Ah yes, the game of telling a a cult member that yes, they are delusional and ignorant of factual things. God's work I suppose.
