Opinion Trump administration in talks to send Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador prisons

Trump is claiming he didn't sign the document. Uh-oh, Marco! The digital document may not be a scan of the original.

"I don't know when it was signed 'cause I didn't sign it," President Trump said. "Other people handled it. But Marco Rubio's done a great job and he wanted them out and we go along with that."

Accepting responsibility? A fools errand i say
The White House released this statement a few hours ago: “President Trump was obviously referring to the original Alien Enemies Act that was signed back in 1798. The recent Executive Order was personally signed by President Trump invoking the Alien Enemies Act that designated Tren de Aragua as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in order to apprehend and deport these heinous criminals.”

Other people = John Adams?

Too bad that the Supreme Court has repeatedly stated that using this law requires due process hearings.

But sure, keep applauding gross abuses of power from your cult leader.

Even if we were to accept state secrets, one wonders what secrets are too hot for the public...

They're getting plenty of due process considering their illegal status. Regardless, your fellow criminal aliens are getting deported and there's nothing you can do about it.

Hey at least you're honest in your disdain for democratic values and civil liberties.

And strange, last I checked I was born in the country. You need your head checked.

You're a sick person, but the thing about people trumpeting for authoritarian governments is those governments have nasty habit of turning on their supporters.

Considering they've started with the societal dregs, like all the illegal criminal aliens and the people like you who leave bombs at Tesla dealerships, they've got a LONG LONG way to go before they get to me!

Regardless, make sure you have a cerveza with your buddies before they disappear 🤣

Like the CIA and politicians using USAID to influence and affect foreign elections and judicial system, as well as fund rebels? But lets complain about.....Getting rid of Illegal GANG members. Can't make this shit up. What civil liberties do illegal Gang Member committing crimes in our country have? What liberties would you have in Venezuela or El Salvador if you were doing what they did?

Is that an abuse of power? Sounds jsut like normal US foreign policy to me.

And no one is complaining about removing gang members. They're complaining about a lack of due process and disdain for constitutional rights. Get your head out of your ass and you might learn a thing or two about your country.

Disgusting. How do you people sleep at night knowing you cosigned this, sending innocent people to a gulag for the rest of their lives.

Sure send the gang bangers. But proof it first before you destroy the lives of the INNOCENT. But no, due process would take too long and the Kristi Noems need their photo ops now so round up anyone brown with tattoos and call it a day.

Shame on you supporters.

Wow, that's absolutely gross.

I disagree with the reporter that it's "unbelievable", though.

It's extremely believable.

I want to ask @Madmick a little bit about this because earlier he said America is nothing like the Islamic Republic of Iran, and @Islam Imamate also said let's not exaggerate, it's nothing like that, maybe like Turkey or Hungary...

But one of the things Madmick said was that in Iran, families wouldn't even know where their loved ones were, they just disappear and they sorta turn up dead after a while, and that's that, no recourse of action, no chance of getting anything through the courts.

That's how evil Iran is. Here's the receipt:

LMFAO.

If this was Iran, she would disappear, her family wouldn't know what happened to her, then two months later it would be revealed she "died of a pre-existing heart condition" in her third week of detention, and if her family sought legal recourse against the courts, they would be threatened, possibly detained themselves, and charged with crimes of their own.

What do we think is going to happen to people who are randomly getting sent to El Salvador without the knowledge of their families because the US can't be bothered doing actual checks on criminality and are just forcing home an anti-immigrant agenda?

I'm gonna call it: they end up dead, the US and El Salvador accept no responsibility whatsoever, and the families just eat shit.

But we're definitely not talking about an Iranian level of fascism here because, I'm gonna guess: these weren't Americans.

And yet we're already hearing Trump threaten to send Americans, too, so that particular scenario just edged a little closer as well.

You're sleepwalking, guys.

All that said, I don't endorse this story, and can't prove it's true. But if this is the case, and random citizens with autism tattoos and a completely clean criminal record are getting sent to El Salvador then yes, the United States under Donald Trump is operating at an Iranian level of cruelty.

You didn't give two fucks about scores of Jan 6th-ers being held for years with no trial. Oh', some foreign gang members though? Here comes the lawyer hat...

You guys are so transparent, and the good thing is that you're too stupid to see it. You really do believe that nobody can see through your very selective outrage. Stay losing.

Sure I definitely see no bias in that reporting and will take it at face value

I get it. Skeptical hippo eyes on anything from CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. You're welcome to do your own research and find other reporting on it.

Doesn't change the fact that at least one innocent got swept up in the roundup. And that's disgusting

If they are delivered to El Salvador alive and taken care of, the the US has treated them well, and it's stupid to compare us to Iran. If you wish to compare El Salvador to Iran, go ahead, doesn't really matter to me, I'll wait for your verification any illegals transferred there from the USA were tortured to death, especially for a transgression as innocuous as defying a mandatory head-scarf law.
