Not even entirely sure what I would call it... Slightly tongue-in-cheek, slightly self-aware blockbuster 65% action 35% comedy. Once in a blue moon you get your True Lies or Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and then most of the time you get something quite unmemorable. Rarely or never does the potential ceiling rival The Terminator or The Godfather or Schindler's List.

Regarding Cameron's film and how they rank, I dunno. I'd have to rewatch The Abyss, but I'm not sure that I feel like The Abyss is a better film than True Lies. Been a while since I saw it, though.

Eh, you know what I mean. True Lies is really good, but not an all time classic 10/10 movie like Cameron usually makes. It's more like 7/10 for me.

And imo The Abyss is a helluva lot better than True Lies. The Abyss is seriously underrated.

Anyway, I don't have time to watch Gods of Egypt. Life's too short and I have to rewatch Deadfall three times before Friday.

I always thought it could be a really good movie with few changes.
 
True Lies, is just a perfect popcorn flick. Great action, great humor just overall a fun film experience.

Jaime Lee Curtis kills it in this.
 
True Lies is great. The interesting thing is over time I've grown to like it more and more as I appreciate the humour more.
 
When I was learning to fap in my preteens, the JLC part was my jam. I never found Jamie Lee Curtis that attractive, but I fapped it super hard on that strip scene.

Now she looks like a 60 year old man...but she rocked my world in the summer of 1999...
