Trudeau got confronted by a vet.

Trudeau's government is fighting veteran's groups in court right now, and he said it's because they want more than Ottawa can give. But Ottawa is giving how many millions to the Clinton Foundation? How many billions of our money is he giving to other countries to supposedly help them reach their climate change targets? What about the $150 million extra a year he gives to CBC? Our government spends like a drunken sailor but can't take care of the men and women of our military. It's not like the Harper administration had a good record on this same issue, but Trudeau is just full of crap. As usual.

I'm not one of those who is critical of Trudeau's government for the Khadr payment, that unfortunately had to be done. But he doesn't have to throw all our money to foreign countries to build his legacy, or increase the bloated budget of our corrupt state broadcaster, when our vets at home aren't taken care of.

Reasonable, but frankly you have to assess vet assistance on its own (are the services and monetary support what they should be or are they lacking?) rather than just list a bunch of programs you don’t like and say “the vets the should get it”. Maybe Canadians want more $ into the CBC and climate change? We have to stand by our vets but voters are also allowed to have other priorities.

I know exactly how you feel. There is a general understanding that politicians are crooked and self-serving, but Trudeau takes it to another level. My blood boils with rage just by glancing at his smug face. As you have said, I have never hated someone so strongly.

I second this.

Again, let's remember Stephen Harper who cut everything in sight and still didn't increase vet finding. he treated the veterans so badly that his appointed yes man was so horrified that he resigned as ombudsman to go on a hunger strike.

This is not a Trudeau problem and I'm quite sure he increased their funding from Harper's incredible lows. I'm sure people on this thread would be quick to praise Harper.

I haven't seen anyone itt praise Harper, I literally mention how he had a bad record on this same issue in the post you quoted, and honestly "but Harper" is getting old. I've never heard a defense of Trudeau that wasn't a deflection on to Harper. We don't want Harper, we booted his government out over 2 years ago. We were promised something better.

I find it funny that Trudeau makes an effort to pronounce the snackbar's name with the correct Arab pronunciation, like some kind of Islam otaku.

Well it goes back to that old saying about how we get the government we deserve then. Personally I find it disgraceful.

consider this a reminder for everyone on this thread to check in with themselves on whether or not they supported Harper when they're bashing Trudeau for Harper's problem

Well that’s true. But an assessment of those policies and how they reflect or even manipulate voters priorities, is all fair game. Again I think here before you even start to throw shade on those other programs you need to assess if the vet programs are doing what they are supposed to. Then you could argue that other programs should be scaled back or taxes raised.

Sure he does.

Without even mentioning the vet programs I'm already pissed at Trudeau for the CBC bullshit. 150 million more to a bloated bureaucracy, and his motives for doing so are transparent as fuck. Not to mention 100k for a Twitter account, however much they spent on that rink, and all of our money he hands out overseas. No reason at all for taxes to be raised, Jesus Christ we're so heavily taxed to begin with.

I'm just going to go ahead and leave this here for yah.

If you don't want to be bashed for Harper's problem, maybe don't promise to fix it then.

As far as Justin's response in regards to the Khadr payout, I think he did as well as can be expected on such a troublesome topic.

He thinks being as far left as possible on every issue makes him untouchable. It's actually a serious problem that a person can think like that. The media is feeding and fueling it. It must be known that those positions do not make you more "right" than those with differing opinions.

He did increase the funding that Harper cut.

Last time I saw this thread came up, many Stephen Harper supporters were shitting on Trudeau for a problem Harper created. Which is why I'm pointing this out.

I can't listen to Trudeau speak anymore. I understand that all politicians are in it for themselves and I get that, but something about him I just can't take. I have never hated someone more in politics. Trudeau is revolting.

Luckily, many liberals I know who voted for him are equally as disgusted with him now and refuse to vote for him again.
I admit I don't know a lot about Canadian politics. Does he have competition in the next election?

I thought the muslim guy won a lawsuit against the Canadian government.

Was no lawsuit.

As the vet mentioned, Trudeau paid him $10 mil. While trying to keep it from public knowledge.

The veterans charter was introduced under the Martin liberals. The lump sum payout, which Trudeau brings up in the clip as "Here is a cheque now go away" was created in 2006 under Martin.
Veterans in Canada have been screwed by the federal government since long before Harper.

Sadly, no. The PC runners have been scandalized by sexual harassment issues. So we are left with Singh, who while good, is even more inexperienced than Trudeau. Factor in that people in Alberta and Sask can barely differentiate between Sikh and muslim, he likely wont get in. I never had an issue with Trudeau until he wanted to rehab ISIS members and reintegrate.

Let's not pretend that Harper's vet programs weren't any less underfunded or didn't push vets to any greater extremes than the Martin or Trudeau government. Harper's cuts were devestating.
