If it helps something like 60% of the land mass is in Asia but 85% of the population is in Europe so for the most part if you guess a Russian fighter is European you will more than likely be correct the majority of the time.

Don't think so but thats not the question. Clearly Machida looks more Asian if you want to put it like that but thats not the question. Sao Paulo has the biggest Japanese population outside Japan, but that doesn't make Brazil apart of Asia. Shev is from Central Asia regardless of her European looks.

well if we are talking about asian by nationality and not racially, the OP never specified, therefore Machida (while probably still not the "first") is a much better answer than Schevchenko.

If we are assuming nationality only, then... sure, I'll concede that Schev probably is
