In the WR I think it's mainly people letting off steam, and it's one of the few places on the Internet where you get a fairly long leash. Plus the rest of the forums are much more positive than the WR. I view it as a disfuncional family that still cares about each other in the end. Sure there's some outliers that just are filled with hate but I look at it like friends shooting the shit. Better that we go at each other than retreat into our own little spaces like Reddit and just dehumanize the other side without hearing them out.

I think if you're looking to forums or social media to have a meaningful political discussion it's not going to happen but at least it's entertaining here and it's not an echo chamber.

A marketing major at college is basically a prime example of someone that was likely exposed to, and fully embraced wokeism and its Marxist ideals in college.
