Ok, two observations.

the old man was out of line here. Granted I don't know what happened initially, but I'm not about confronting aggressively people who are different.


the 2nd video, I fucking hate these type of people, folks LOOKING for reasons to be offended. I'm sorry, if you look like the opposite sex, someone may misgender you. it's not personal, and for your to act like someone spit on your mom's grave? gtfo.

My best friend is a trans dude and one of the best MEN that I know. The sweeping generalizations that people make are fucking retarded.

That being said, the first trans friend I ever had was actually just an asshole who couldn't seem to make up their mind as to who they were and was hostile to everyone who couldn't keep up with their constantly shifting identify or wouldn't give them credit as the "biggest minority" out of all of our diverse friends. They only lasted 1 summer with us.

I think a lot of people, trans or not, put too much of their identity into being a MAN or a WOMAN and that's a huge part of the problem because literally like other than for making babies who fucking cares? Are you a fucking asshole or not, that's all that matters to me.



And as far as children go imo hormones and surgery should not be a possible course of action until age 18, which in reality is just the arbitrary government approved age of adulthood, but that's the best we're gonna get. If they regret their decision it's on them, adults fuck shit up all the time.

Like, take a friggin chill pill. They also quickly pivoted to being "they," and then it was a mixture. They had zero empathy for us and expected maximum from us.


I was honestly glad that that was my first close experience because it immediately made me separate people who are just assholes from people who are actually in this thing. IMO anyone who's actually in it just wants to live their life and not draw attention to them and their struggle. Their struggle is to "feel normal," and drawing attention to it would fly in the face of that.

When your appearance doesn't match however you see yourself it's hard to be accepted by the people around you, which I think does contribute to a fair amount of folks just going all in on the "in your face" behavior -- this holds true to all aspects of self-insight, not just trans folks.

But definitely some people are just fucking assholes who, even if they really do see themselves this way, also see it as their ticket to attention. Their inability to understand that NOBODY FUCKING CARES ABOUT YOU actively harms their cause both personally and on a macro level.

My friend has discussed this -- new folks always get some benefit of the doubt. But people who do so repeatedly, especially if they're close to you in some way (professionally or personally) it's not so much of an anger as it is a disappointment that you don't seem to give a fuck about who he is, or can't seem to get past the dogmatic idea in your mind.

He, luckily, is a very intelligent and mature person who has had a great support system including therapy and is doing fucking fantastic in all aspects of life. For people who their life sucks it's probably easy to start pointing fingers.

Clip with the old man was heavily edited so we would not only have to see the full exchange but would also have to know what he was talking about when he mentioned the trans person being at a city council meeting or something to that effect.
