To be fair this doesn't seem to be a trans issue. According to the community note "In Massachusetts, Field Hockey is an explicitly co-ed sport at the high school level because men's field hockey is not offered." So the guy isn't even trans, just a guy who wants to play field hockey but can't find a men's team since it's pretty much a girls sport.
