My kids have never once even mentioned a trans kid. Maybe one kid at camp. And they go / went to a large high school in LI.
And yes, it is kids lives we are talking about. You think none of their parents care about them? It’s a meaningless issue to me in my life. I don’t recall ever actually meeting a trans person, or even seeing one at work. To those families, it’s real.
I think the parents who already trans-ed their kid cannot accept any reality where it might have been a mistake.
Since it's irreversible, they have to vehemently fight for it at all costs. The alternative is to admit to themselves they just ruined their young child for life. It's a sunk cost fallacy.
Think about it this way - adult trans people come in all forms. Some get bottom surgery, some only get top surgery, some only take hormones and no surgery, some want to keep their penis, while others do not want it and get a phallopasty, etc.
So how TF can a child decide what "kind" of trans person they would want to be into adulthood lasting their entire lives? They can't because they're children.
They also can't decide as a minor that they never want children or lose all sexual function.
Then kids that go through the puberty blocker route often do not have genital growth and forms a micro penis. Then they won't have enough "tissue" to reshape into a neo-vagina. That's what happened to that Jazz Jennings trans kid that was on Bravo TV.
