Law Trans surgery on kids is now banned.

My kids have never once even mentioned a trans kid. Maybe one kid at camp. And they go / went to a large high school in LI.

And yes, it is kids lives we are talking about. You think none of their parents care about them? It’s a meaningless issue to me in my life. I don’t recall ever actually meeting a trans person, or even seeing one at work. To those families, it’s real.

I think the parents who already trans-ed their kid cannot accept any reality where it might have been a mistake.

Since it's irreversible, they have to vehemently fight for it at all costs. The alternative is to admit to themselves they just ruined their young child for life. It's a sunk cost fallacy.

Think about it this way - adult trans people come in all forms. Some get bottom surgery, some only get top surgery, some only take hormones and no surgery, some want to keep their penis, while others do not want it and get a phallopasty, etc.

So how TF can a child decide what "kind" of trans person they would want to be into adulthood lasting their entire lives? They can't because they're children.

They also can't decide as a minor that they never want children or lose all sexual function.

Then kids that go through the puberty blocker route often do not have genital growth and forms a micro penis. Then they won't have enough "tissue" to reshape into a neo-vagina. That's what happened to that Jazz Jennings trans kid that was on Bravo TV.

Aforementioned paper that didn’t get published because it wasn’t trans positive enough:

Any reasonable doctor would want their study published for the good of the medical community, so doctors can make informed decisions. Except if the study says “maybe this isn’t helping trans people”

9 year $10 million dollar study, concluded puberty blockers aren’t having positive effect on long term mental health of trans individuals. Won’t publish. 🤣

The project was ten million dollars, not that study.

The project also contained other studies that came to the conclusion that found "improvements in life and body satisfaction" in transgender and nonbinary adolescents who took estrogen or testosterone as well as "declines in depression and anxiety."

All you guys care about are the studies that fit your narrative, and you're more than happy to take these decisions out of the hands of parents and doctors and hand them to politicians.

What is irreversible? Most kids aren’t “trans-ed” as minors. And “often” do not have genital growth? Where did you get that info? And these minors and families are not deciding what “kind” of trans person they would want to be yet. That’s kind of the point.

And it’s a decision the family has to live with, as does the individual. A decision likely not taken lightly. Parents, and their kids. Do you have kids?

I used to consider myself something of a Blue dog democrat when I was younger. That was before the reign of the Obamanites.

Almost feels like a different world prior to 2012
- Sad that looks like a staged goblal enfort. They're trying to impose the same political views in diferent places, with diferent cultures. Same as the righ. But the righ has far less reach.

You’re wrong
Stupidly wrong
maybe your heart is in the right place but this is the dumbest shit anyone has ever dumbshitted and that’s comparing it to a lot of really dumb shit

If you want to see some dumb shit, go check out his takes on the Palestine/Israel conflict.

What is irreversible? Most kids aren’t “trans-ed” as minors.

If a kid gets puberty blockers, the vast majority go on to get "trans-ed" by taking cross sex hormones. That is getting trans-ed as minors.

And “often” do not have genital growth? Where did you get that info?

If you stop puberty, the genitals don't grow. For MTF trans people, if they never went through male puberty due to blockers and then took female sex hormones to transition, they never got the correct hormones for their penis to actually grow to an adult size. They essentially have a micro penis.

Jazz Jennings case.

“Jazz as a medical case is really a conundrum because her puberty was blocked so well that she didn’t get growth of her genitals in a way that allows us as a surgeon to use a conventional approach,” said Dr. Bowers, who admitted that there were risks involved, including “hemorrhage inside” or “injury to the intestine.”

“And so we have to be very creative to find new ways of getting tissue to line these areas of the body that we create,” she said.

And these minors and families are not deciding what “kind” of trans person they would want to be yet. That’s kind of the point.

Yes they are. Because a lot of trans people have a penis still. While some don't. Plus they're deciding whether they want kids or not at that early age.

At least if you transition as an adult, you can freeze your sperm or eggs as an option. You don't get that if you get puberty blocked and then sex change.

And it’s a decision the family has to live with, as does the individual. A decision likely not taken lightly. Parents, and their kids. Do you have kids?

That's my point. A kid is way too young to be making these decisions.

And then you keep saying it's the input of the parents, kids and doctors. Well how about those cases where the parents are against it and they lose custody of their child?

Don't have kids yet.

We weren’t discussing use of estrogen and testosterone, we were discussing the use of puberty blockers. The study that was purposefully not published concluded that puberty blockers do not lead to improvement in mental health.

If you want to discuss testosterone and estrogen therapy, that’s an entirely separate argument.

Imagine dying on this hill, LOL.

It's a regurgitated point, but if society deems you too young to be charged as an adult in a crime, sit at a bar and have a drink, drive a vehicle, vote, serve in our military, get a tattoo, etc... basically because your not mature enough to make those decisions... it's wild that this is even a discussion.

100% yet it’s celebrated, glorified and a badge of honor for parents. Why is it rich people, celebrity kids overwhelmingly represent tran kids? Social contagion for sure

You'd think that after grade school, people would get past the "popularity contest" aspect and just live their lives.

Not at all and it’s the same logic thinking of having a vegan cat, we know who’s driving the choices of it all

- The left has became a joke. I've been called conservative herew. And my avatar is a super-hero that defends socialists ideals.

It's a part of the self-destruction of some dedicated democrats/far left hacktivists; step a little out of line on any of their suite of beliefs and they are very quick to try to convince you what a horrible person you are and not worthy of their presence lol. And they will certainly make things up and use any of the tricks and devices they complain others use in efforts to mask moral superiority.

Nature is healing. Fuck the woketards.

There Partially I might agree with Pump.

I think such and related surgeries should be done only if there cancers and other kind of stuff etc alike where in real life after short time there is risk to talk with God.
Sometimes hormonal therapy is used in oncology etc kind of stuff. Ofc there usually are doctors etc and consiliums.
To remowe something. Not alone something more.

Otherwise to turn male into female or vice wersa is biologically almost impossible here and this is real life in real world.

I agree with your take (from surgical/medication perspective) but just to clarify - currently you can get a tattoo at any age with parent consent in like half the states.

I personally think we should also enact legislation banning underage tattooing and also minor biological girls from getting elective fake tits (legal with parent consent), which would make it easier for us to demonstrate that this isn't specifically targeting trans folks but rather protecting children.

I don't think nearly anyone would have a problem with that.
