This is just total bullshit, for the overwhelming majority of trans it's non-debilitating. Trump and his supporters just think they're icky. It's childish bullshit.

If you wanted to say certain individual trans in service have issues so debilitating they can't serve, but all en masse? That's bullshit and discriminatory.

Many of the things that prevent service are not debilitating. But it's elective service and they select to be the most effective in combat. Obv after boot camp they go in various directions. People disqualified from service can be successful in other things. Plenty of people who are medicated for either mental and physical can lead exceptional lives. Thats not the point of the military. It's about choosing things that are the most beneficial in that context

It's likely why they do more blanket instead of case by case for most things. Again the politics of this is unfortunate but most things are blanketed to prevent selecting some and not others. Could someone with any of the mental or physical issues that disqualify them serve well? Of course and im sure some of them have and had something undiagnosed. But if a diagnosis comes out they get medically discharged. The military is different from other professions and elective/selective.

There's ton of less stressful jobs they can do. In fact, most of the jobs. Military ain't one.

We're talking about people who already passed those mental health checks, per the military's own data, roughly 18% of all service members have one or more mental health issues. Trans representing only a very small fraction of that.
