I haven’t seen one person support this person here. Have you? Do you think a lot of people support this? You think most people can’t agree? Again shit like this is just fodder for the right. They’ll post this person and the weightlifter from the Olympics (that can’t compete anymore) for years to come.

There's literally a kid that's biologically male who's now competing as a female swimmer in my area. My daughter is a pretty high level swimmer (for her age) so we're dialed a little bit into the swim world for our area. The kid in question is 2 years older than my daughter so my kid hasn't directly competed vs that kid but long story short...some parents of some girls from a club near us (not my kid's club, but she knows most of those kids) spoke up to voice some opposition and it was instantly accusations of bigotry launched their way. And I got a pretty detailed description of how they approached it and it was NOT mean spirited or vitriolic at all. But holy shit the blowback. A few of the loudest loons calling them bigots on SM. One lady has a yoga studio in the town next to ours and these a-holes bombed her FB page saying nobody should patronize a business who's owner's heart is "filled with hate". This was awhile back, it's died down now. But people were apparently scared to stick up for the ones who said something out of fear they too would be labeled "bigots".

So yeah, maybe it's not commonplace but it can be a thing and it can affect lives.

Well you don't "know" she won't lose a scholarship to a biological male swimmer...not sure how you could possibly "know" that.

And yeah sure, everyone should always be "kinder" on every side of every issue. The problem with the radicals on the one side of this issue is that to them "being kind" means just shutting your mouth and accepting biological males competing vs girls as long as they say they identify as a female. Anything less that complete capitulation means accusations of bigotry and personal attacks. So...yeah.
