Hey,
My current workout split is Monday-MMA,Tuesday-Weights, Wednesday-MMA, Thursday-Weights, Friday-MMA and Saturday-Weights and ive been told by my coach to start running longer distances. Im hoping to put on muscle mass, hence the weights, but i fear all the cardio will kill my gains. What is the best solution? dont do the running at leave it how it is? more weight sessions a week? or will i be okay if i just eat more, maybe somebody can help me out.
Thanks.

Just eat more and tell your coach that you need to run less for about 3 months or so.

Do you trust your coach? Does he know his S&C well, or does he just know MMA?

Added steady state may make it harder to gain weight, but not impossible. It's impossible to say whether your coach is right or wrong, because I don't have the information he has. It may be that even though adding weight would be beneficial, that right now, he thinks your aerobic base is so poor, that it should be the priority. Or it may be that he doesn't understand the value of strength training and gaining some size, and is valuing more traditional stuff, like road work, over it. It's impossible to say with the given information.
