So, I've had this one since September but really wasn't sure what to think of it. The concept is pretty damn cool, but until I modified it slightly it just annoyed me.
Brand: High Godo
Name: Crimson Fighter Mech
Pieces: 523
Cost: $31.99 on Amazon. Got a good discount and paid $26.33 total.
Stickers: Yes, can't remember but I think around 40.
Base/Stand: No
So as I said, the concept is kinda cool. It's what I would think of as a drone or generic mech. It would be cool as an army builder, but you'd need to be able to create stands for it since it just won't fucking stand on it's own for very long. You can (sometimes) get it balanced in a way it'll stand for a bit, but any vibration and it comes tumbling down. It also helped when I had everything facing the right way lol - you'll see in the pictures.
The issue is how the legs are designed. The "z" pattern just puts too much weight moving forward, and they just aren't beefy enough to handle how top heavy the mech is. I've had this issue with this leg design before (specifically the Crimson Typhoon models).
Once I modified it to be able to use a stand with it, I liked the build much better. It still has it's issues (lots of pieces really want to fall off when you pose it). Thankfully I had a stand that I didn't need from one of the other mechs in this series.
The guns are pretty bad ass looking and they are pretty easy to pose in a lot of different positions. It reminds me some of the police mechs from Robocop.
Colors look good (High Godo is still the best when it comes to metalics - and just their color palate in general).
Not much else to say. Overall I'd give it a 5/10 and had a real stand been included I would have went 6.5/10. Still I think it was worth the price I paid for it, but not at the full price.
Original without a stand. I've actually got the body backwards (instructions weren't the best on this one).
Front facing with a stand - and the correct body orientation:
Left Side view: The stand somewhat prevents the legs from "folding" into the correct shape, but at least it won't fall over. Gun looks great, but the vent holes are a sticker.
