Going in I had a couple of concerns. I figured it would be really badly top heavy (it is), and that the torso was too narrow to hold the top from falling (it isn't).
This 100% could use a stand. It is VERY top heavy thanks to the wings on the back. They are really well built, but heavy because of it. You have to have everything just right or it will tip over, but once you get it properly adjusted it stands ok.
The spear is solid (minus the very top - it is just needing a better connection to the shaft). It looks really badass though and isn't super heavy like some of them. I really wish this one had the newer hands so it could grip the spear better. The connection point is too central to really give you a good way to hold it two handed.
The legs/feet are very adjustable - in and out - but there is limited movement flexing them.
There are a few spots that like to pop off when moving. I could glue, but it isn't too bad and are easy enough to put back on.
I LOVE the pauldrons and "wings". They have plenty of flexibility and just look great.
I don't hate the orange, but don't love it either. It definitely gives a unique look. The gold and silver pop against the red. There are actually two reds - one flat, one metallic. Made building a little challenging, but the instructions were good letting you know which to use.
The fact there were no stickers was a very welcome surprise.
The head has decent flexibility. Wish the face had a little more definition to it, but otherwise it looks decent.
This is a big boy, with the wings up it's probably about 15" to the tip (she wishes).
There were 34 bags I think, and it was broken down into 6 stages with each stage having 5+ bags. I spread the build out over 3 days.
Overall I think it was well worth getting and I'm happy with how it turned out. I'd say 8.5/10 which would have been higher had it came with a stand.
Now pictures!
Front:
Back: Those wings are massive and look so cool. While the shape stays the same, they can be adjusted forward/Backwards and up/down.
Side: The spear looks even better in person. I did make a small modification to the tip to keep it tight together.
Head/face: A little more detail would have been nice (making the eyes a little clearer/defined would have been better).
