Delta force soldier that volunteered to become a temporary vampire to combat a re-awakened ancient evil.^

The amount of detail on the SCAR (rifle) is crazy good.
 
It's hard to get a good picture without setting up my light box, but I'm making decent progress on my Szalamandra. At my current pace I should finish it this weekend.

Done so far:
-primed black
-zenthial highlighted white
-blue-grey layer (went a bit too hard on this)
-black wash (wasn't enough to course correct)
-black airbrush from low angle to fill back in the shadows and knock back the glue-grey highlights to where I wanted them
-second black wash

So airbrushing is done, it's all brush work from here on out.. Still to do:
-base dark red on muscle fiber
-progressive drybrush medium red, bright red, maybe a the lightest hint of orange at the very tippy-top
-grey drybrush on some edges, maybe pick out a couple corners with a dot of white
-light blue for eye lenses
-maybe some black weathering powder at the muzzle of the big gun.
 
^ Hasbro should ask Hollywood to design the characters to more easily produce the action figures. I'm guessing the higher price tag went into manually connecting those hoses and the paint apps.
 
I suppose I need to order GIJ CS Retro Flint. Rumor is the S.N.A.K.E. Armor fits a figure inside. Looks like a big mecha, so will wait to see more details and price. Not a fan of the A.W.E. Striker. The M.A.S.S. Device diver two pack might be appealing.
 
Needs some cleanup, but it's basically done. My first reaction is that I hate it, but I'm going to let it sit for a few days before coming back for the finishing touches and see if I still feel the same. I'm not sure yet how I want to base it, and a good base can make a world of difference in how a model looks.

Well, after waiting since July my Retro ML Kingpin figure still hasn't arrived so I cancelled the order today .

As they were the same price I have instead ordered...

Still after Kingpin though and a few others of the early Spidey retro cards...
 
Went to Wal-Mart for some stuff and decided to finally pick up the Lego War Machine Mech. Haven't built any in a while and now that I have a bunch of free time on my hands I thought I'd grab one.

Good shout . It's only a small set but it's a nice build .

Currently sat at work with no trains to drive , everything is covered so I've been reading a magazine on shares/ investment and doing the final bag of my Carnage Lego head my daughter got me for Christmas.... that'll be Venom , Spidey and Carnage made up and sat in my room...

It was fun. For such a small set there were a lot of cool little building techniques.
