Had a similar conversation with another comic book/ novel guy . Yea, you can go on eBay etc and purchase what you want but there is a certain amount of extra pleasure in finding a comic or similar out ' in the wild' as it were....

He's very good at picking up 2000 ad stuff on his travels for me ( love you Owen x)

Ohh, that reminds me! A friend and I go to a local cafe/book store for coffee and on a whim I asked an employee if they had a section for movie novels. I mentioned Terminator 2 as an example (although I already have that novel). She said no but she’d check the database for Terminator. Turns out she had three graphic novels! It was super cool. Totally unexpected but still so exciting lol. Prices were good too, about $8 or less for each.

On another note, I’ve just become aware of battle trolls and was scrolling eBay for one before I loaded up Sherdog 😂

Can I just say how much I despise water slide decals? I'm working on a Land Raider and decals are one of the very last steps...and I hate them. They never end up exactly where you want them. They crinkle. They tear. The edges never blend quite right no mater how much Micro Sol you put on them. But the model looks naked without them even if the rest of the paint job is great. They suck.

I've hated them since I was a kid!
 
I assume the DBZ Dragon Stars and SHF use some sort of water slide or tampo on the face paint apps.
 
Here's that tank I was bitching about the decals for. It's a Salamanders chapter Land Raider Proteus Carrier. I'm really happy with how it came out, even if there are a couple things I might change if I were to do it again.

Thanks man. And yup, that's all mine. Lots of steps to get it to that point:
-prime black
-airbrush grey gradient
-airbrush white from just the top-down for crown highlight
-airbrush black ambient occlusion in the corners
-mask off tracks
-airbrush green, making sure to preserve underlying gradient and occlusion pass
-wash with a green-black coat to reinforce dark crevices and give a lived-in smudge
-remove mask from tracks
-paint tracks and bogies in steel/ceramic grey
-wash tracks with oil wash
-paint metallic details and add oil wash
-paint color details (red lenses, red missile tips, red and blue power leads on lascannons)
-gloss varnish for protection
-decals (fuck them)
-gloss varnish again to seal decals
-satin varnish to finish

This is what it looked like before the green paint was applied (this prep work is subtle in the final piece but you'd miss it if it wasn't there):

Lol , I have to go get the daughter's BF Lego tmrw and am nervous about being let loose in a huge toyshop that has a good range...

I was getting twitchy , think that was part of the reason I picked up the MOTU Funko

There're a few Items that I'd like to get. The Halo: Reach Emile, Jorge, and the Macross Frontier "Tornado Messiah" Valkyrie action figure.

But what I just named are around a total of $700+
