They were DC in house toy/statues brand, they were probably the first company to do figures based on particular comic book art styles like Alex Ross, Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, Tim Sale, etc, recently they were doing the animated Batman figures.

First time I saw news about that, the article said it was from same reputable company that brought other big games, but later saw or heard podcast saying it's coming out by company known for shovelware so guessing it sucks.

Sadly that first Batman and Superman he made were based on Jim Lee's art. So I dont think we will se another Jim Lee based Batman soon, I mean he reused the mold for a Blue/Grey variant but thats it.

So 8/14 was supposed to be Target exclusive G.I. Joe Classified Cobra Island back online for orders, but all gone... again. Was also supposed to be the confused in store street date, but none to be found.

Today I saw for the first time any 6" G.I. Joe in store: midnight blue Cobra Commander where right thigh was way fatter than left thigh. Passed. The touch screen showed no Cobra Trooper or Beach Head on floor or in back.

Walmart put all their old unwanted Marvel Legends and Star Wars Retro (non-Boba Fett) on clearance... not really appealing price. Main pegs didn't have any Star Wars or Marvel or G.I. Joe. From peeking at the plan-o-grams, didn't look like any space for Marvel or G.I. Joe, but Star Wars TVC had some space. I did see some 6 pack diecast Dungeons and Dragons full color little board game pieces and some monster/dragon box set, as well as Godzilla stuff. Do these properties have something coming up? Why all of the sudden these toys on shelves?

DC Direct aka DC Collectibles Shut Down!

"In a surprising move this week, DC issued massive layoffs affecting comic properties and their DC Universe service. Most surprisingly was the shut down of their mass market retail unit, DC Direct (which was rebranded as DC Collectibles). DC Direct/Collectibles while producing nice looking figures, had issues with scale and articulation. They moved between 6″ – 7″ figures before finally settling on a 6″ size with their most recent “DC Essentials” collection, trying to compete for the 1/12th scale/6″ market compared to the massive Hasbro Marvel Legends onslaught.

Because DC Direct/Collectibles restarted their lines so often, we were often faced with repeated characters. I currently have 5 different John Stewart Green Lanterns, 4 different Cyborgs, 2 Vixens, etc.

Seems like Tues Marvel reveal may have leaked: Venomized Wave with Carnage, new Morbius, maybe Movie Venom and nice looking BAF of Venompool monster (bigger than the already huge Movie Venom) with alternate hands.

Walgreens exclusive Silver Centurion Iron Man. Probably won't be able to find it here or order it online.

Still no G.I. Joe Target exclusives. Target SHF Goku Saiyan Raised on Earth seemed to sell out fast at $35. I did see Target had a big Mechagodzilla and regular.

I remembered I had tiny 1/144 Amuro and Camile probably from Real Grade and dug them up. So tiny, very easy to lose. I want to paint them, but so tiny and I'd have to learn how to mix brown paint for Amuro's hair.

Got the NECA glow in the dark Alien from walmart.






Thought it was cool how the box glows, gonna keep it in there as a collectible. Unfortunately the box has light dents and imperfections, so I might get it out at some point. Time will tell.

Was there any other Star Wars reveals today for pre-order I missed? I could only download the FB audio not video.

Not interested in the 5POA box sets since I already bought a bunch as Galaxy of Adventures tubes.
