I ordered the Firefly from the UK Amazon site . Reduced to £20 or .$27 . Looks exactly the same as the one on the US Amazon site but cheaper and a different brand .Probably hasn't got any tariffs on it....
I have seen it cheaper, but that was the first one I came across.

The brand can have a big change on the pricing, and it usually only effects the packaging from what I've seen so far.

only toy-related gift i received was a Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse LEGO minifig blind box 6-pack (got Spider-Punk, Spider Gwen, Spider-Man 2099, Cyborg Spider-Woman, Peter + Mayday, & Werewolf Spidey). also got a 2400+ sleeved card capacity deck case for my magic decks/cards, which is toy adjacent i suppose?

other than those, it was a graphic novel (Tongues, Vol.1 by Anders Nilsson), a bluray (The Pied Piper + Jiří Barta Shorts 2-disc collection), a Nicolas Cage mug, a Puma hoodie + joggers, & a pair of Puma hiking boots. oh yeah, & a life-sized cardboard cutout of myself.

This from the "Vanguard" blind box that I ordered from Valaverse's "Action Force". This was all-in at $99. I REALLY wanted the hot pink version, but they said you have a "chance" to get that pull! :)

So got this one thinking it would be a cool alternative to what I usually get. Kept getting so pissed off I couldn't finish it. From a bad body design, to a leg design that is totally fucked, it just wasn't worth the effort.

I've put one together that is a similar desing - Crimson Typhoon - but a cheaper company. I thought I would have issues with it standing up, but hoped being from High Godo it would work better. Still having the same balance issues, even with the base (which is actually really good) and haven't finished it yet. I'll probably try again using glue to help keep it together, but not sure how to solve the balance issue.

This just arrived today and I've gotten through step one. This is the first spaceship I've done (minus the Star Wars ones). Gotta say that I'm liking it so far. It's got a good stand and the bones are looking solid. There are almost 40 bags in total but there isn't a piece count anywhere. I'm guessing it's somewhere between 1000 and 1200 pieces. If it goes well I'm going to pick up another from the same company. Only one sticker is a plus.

This guy should show up tomorrow. I've put off buying it just because of the hands (stupid, I know) but the price was right. Pretty sure this finishes off this mid-size line from High Godo/Sluban for me.

Wish there were more spaceship builds around that weren't Star Wars.
Prime LEGO years for me as a kid were M:Tron, Space Police, Spyrius, Ice Planet. And then came the SW license and all that basically went away.

I’m not a collector, but part of me really wants a Soundwave and a Grimlock transformer. I know there’s a few places around here that sell stuff like that, I need to actually start looking though.

So this thing is pretty badass. Turned out way better than I was expecting, and plan on getting at least one other version. Little more expensive than the mechs, but I feel is worth the price. Took me parts of 3 days to finish

Brand: Sosuy
Pieces: Didn't say, guessing around 1200
Name: Galaxy Comet
Price: $76.99 on Amazon (got 30% off on sale for $53.89
Stand: Yep
Stickers: 1 (which I managed to fuck up being a dumbass).
Size 10 x 16 x 9 1/3 (H x W x D)

So I wanted something different and this caught my eye because of the light features and... who doesn't love a starship?

While the colors are fairly basic in just white black and a few accents in gold and the translucent blue, I think it looks pretty sharp. The lights really help.

Speaking of the lights, there are two that are both pretty easy to turn on with the one in the nose taking just opening up two side panels that are hinged.

The stand is solid and it's easy to remove the starship.

One thing I really like is the way it wasn't all closes off and smoothed out. Giving it texture was a nice touch.

There's some movable parts that really don't do much of anything.

The construction of the outter rounded edges was really well done and pretty damn solid.

I screwed up the sticker on the stand. It covers 2 pieces and my dumb ass decided to try and put it on while detached, and proceeded to drop the bloody thing. I'm a moron.

This is an easy 8/8.5 outta 10.

Now for the good stuff.

A fucking grand and it doesn’t even come with his cassettes?

But, that is really fucking cool.

Holy shit it doesn't just transform, it also walks and makes battle noises, etc. Every 80's kid needs this in their lives.

My plastic glue was finally running out after years of use and dozens of kits assembled. Unfortunately, Testors no longer makes the needle applicator bottle. I went to the little hole-in-a-wall nerd shop the next town over and they had a bottle of Army Painter brand glue so I picked that up to try and it's the wrong consistency. It's like the old-school Testors in the red metal tube: it's goopy and stinks to high heaven. Great for putting a weapon on the end of an arm, where you want it to stick exactly where you put it without having to hold it in place for more than a few seconds, but its lack of precision means larger parts, or lots of small parts, becomes a pain-in-the-ass.

So I did what any sane person would do: I ordered three different brands to try out (Revell with the needle bottle, Testors in the inferior all-plastic bottle, and Tamiya Extra Thin with the brush-cap).

Until my glue ran out I'd been putting together a shitload of infantry. I've only got a dozen left and will have done like...175 of them in the last six weeks.
I used one bottle of Tamiya Extra Thin probably from Amazon and super strong probably toxic smell, and after that ran out bought probably again from Amazon Tamiya Extra Thin Limonene which is supposed to be nontoxic since made of orange peel(?) and not as strong or fast as regular Extra Thin, but ok to weld the polystyrene. You're supposed to take advantage of the capilary flow action by holding the pieces together and applying a droplet on the seam and watch the extra thin dart across the seam and melt the pieces together.

Come on, what did you lot get then for the holidays ?
I kept seeing people post about Rosscon for Marvel Legends including two packs and GI Joe Classified, but I guess the economy is so F'd that tons of scalpers are scooping them up first thing when stores open to flip them and I only got a GIJ CS Helix cheap. I don't recall ordering anything cheap as I didn't really see anything I wanted online that was cheap.

I did see a GIJ CS Heavy Duty with weaponized "desk" at Target for 50% off so $18+ tonight and skipped it.

I started watching on Netflix Transformers War for Cybertron and the computer animation models are so good and story not bad. I might start buying select Transformers again and opening the F-15 Starscream I bought on clearance years ago. Kinda want Jetfire, but probably expensive. I'll be paying more attention to Transformers in stores now. Might order the Skybound Transformers comic hardcover maybe 12 issue compilation later.

If Lego made a transforming Soundwave, I'd be impressed.

Perfect Grade Zaku II mint in box or build it?

Seems if I quote with the pics, I get "javascript and cookies must be enabled". Seems I was gone for 2 weeks due to that.
