Topuria is like a bigger, prime Cody Garbrandt. Except he has a chin, better fight iq, and bjj. Only thing Cody did better is footwork

We’ve never seen boxing like this in the UFC. Not Aldo, Mcgregor, Poirier, or Max has his combination of boxing skill, power, and athleticism. JDM might have Topuria beat in boxing skill, but he doesn’t have the explosiveness and power of Toppy

Reminder that this is Volk 3 months after a bad concussion, medical consensus is you need at least 6 months of rest (with NO activity, much less a full mma training camp) for the brain to heel. Seeing his performance against Lopes an ilia rematch would’ve been interesting.

It wasn’t the best Volk we’ve seen, but he put him out in 3. I imagine any version of Volk gets slept or TKO’d by Topuria

I think it’s a bad stylistic matchup for Volk, but I do think people are underplaying how badly compromised Volk was. He had no business taking that fight, and everyone in the mma community said it was a bad idea and he’d get knocked out, that was the consensus opinion. Then when ilia knocks him out everyone just forgot and pretended it was a great win because he knocked out a legend lol.

Both have power, that what makes fights most exciting imo, it's unpredictable.

Thankfully, he is not fighting for the title right away, as he knows everything is much riskier up a class. In fact, he was 10 seconds away from losing to Herbert, and now Herbert no longer fights, every fight is a role of the dice. If this guy becomes LW champ, it will be much more impressive if he can handle Charles, Arman, Hooker, LW Max, and Raphael to get to it.
