Top UFC Ref Blasted By World News Media

I think the bashing came at the end of the round. I think Frank only took one extra punch which was the hook. Pulev threw an uppercut which missed after Mir was wobbled then a left hook which made Mir do the Mortal Kombat dance. Pulev slowly walked toward Mir and the ref stepped in and waved it off. I think if Pulev would have went in more aggressive he would have stopped it sooner. I do think its being overblown a bit through. Mir took one extra shot that's it.

to be fair this ref should be at the bottom end of the blamelist for this shit show

Please notify the UFC of your opinion cause they seem to think very differently than you. UFC always add Miragliotta to their list of refs they want working on their fight cards including those main event fights. So yes the UFC does have Miragliotta high on their list of top refs.

There are more than just "me" that feel the same way. Dan M. Is not solely a UFC ref...

Soooooooo you still incorrectly think Dan is an employee of the ufc and not an appointment athletic commission official... got it
Miragliotta is a "UFC ref" because he is one of only a handful of refs who are permitted to work UFC events.

Nobody is saying he works for the UFC. He works for the athletic commissions, but people in the fight business tend to be known by the most prestigious or high-profile organization they've worked with.

on paper it's not as bad as them allowing Woodley to fight Jake Paul. you're talking about a fucking youtuber who hasn't fought a real fighter vs a former WORLD CHAMPION who was KOing world class fighters in MMA.
Jake Paul at least 2 weight classes bigger and also actually more experienced as a boxer

If he had landed the uppercut Mir would be dead.

Oh come on, Mir took more punishment from Carwin and that fight was stopped WAY later than this one.
Damage accumulates so the stuff you mention just adds to why he would be dead.

people only think that way because it was a complete mismatch and never should have been sanctioned in the first place. If they were two closely matched boxers and the ref stopped it like that in the first everyone would be talking about how terrible it was that he stopped it.

Edit: the ref is suppose to referee all fights the same not stop it earlier because he thinks it's a mismatch.

<WhoJeff>
I almost wish it did land cause I don't think Mir would drop dead.
Even if he didn't what would that prove? Wishing possible permanent brain damage on someone is kind of shitty.

It is but that's why I'm into MMA. Just bleed, right?
