Top UFC Ref Blasted By World News Media

If you believe the refs that work UFC main event PPV's are the best refs in the business you are wrong. Dan Miragliotta proved UFC refs are not always the best of the best when it took him what seemed like a lifetime to put a halt to the Pulev vs Mir fight in a hybrid boxing vs MMA match on Triad Combat. If Pulev had rushed Mir when he stumbled into the corner unaware of his surroundings we might have witnessed the first death in Triad Combat due to an incompetent ref. Luckily for Mir, Pulev could see Mir was finished long before UFC ref Dan Miragliotta came out of his coma to stop the fight.

News media from around the world blasted Miragliotta for being so slow at halting the fight. The bottom video shows Pulev waiting for Miragliotta to stop the fight as he walked very slowly over towards Mir before clueless Dan Miragliotta figured out after a couple seconds that Mir's brain was not in the arena at that moment.

Whoa! If the WORLD MEDIA said it, that makes it 100% true...
.. <EdgyBrah>

Terrible matchmaking and the same damn hesitation shit we have see all too oft of refs lately.

I wonder if someone had a "talk" with them...

Bullshit... he got in there at EXACTLY the right moment.

It's a delicate balance between giving the fighter a chance, and protecting the fighter from unnecessary trauma and nobody could have done a better job last night.

"World Media" should stick to cricket or whatever.

Being blown out of proportion.

It was the main event. Mir got rocked but stayed on his feet, he took ONE solid hook, still stayed up and it got stopped.

People need to lighten the fuck up. "Durr he could have diedied!!!" Shut the fuck up.

He isn't a "UFC ref".

Miragliotta was definitely partly to blame. The fight never should have been sanctioned in the first place, but it was. It was his job to stop the fight if one of the fighters wasn't defending himself, and he didn't do that.

Pulev stopped that fight, not Miragliotta.

You are 100% correct.

Boxing seems to be a bit more sensitive to additional unnecessary punches, in the end mainstream MMA has been death free in the US, was it a bad stoppage? Yes, a guy went in clearly overmatched and paid for it, Dan had his chance and it was a LATE stoppage, boxing stops fight often for much less than that.

We will all die, it just depends on how and when

Holly Holm's career does not agree... lol

I think Mirg took a second cuz he was just trying to avoid accidentally getting punched in the face by Frank since he didn't seem to know what fucking planet he was on.

He isn't a "UFC ref".

The UFC includes Dan Miragliotta on a list of refs they want to work on their fight cards and main event so yes he is a "UFC ref". If the UFC excluded Miragliotta from that list he would not work on any of their fight cards.

So triller acquired the services of Dan from the ufc?

Or was it some other entity?

Top UFC Ref?

News flash...he sucks.

Please notify the UFC of your opinion cause they seem to think very differently than you. UFC always add Miragliotta to their list of refs they want working on their fight cards including those main event fights. So yes the UFC does have Miragliotta high on their list of top refs.
