News Top Rank calls off two fight cards over lack of COVID-19 testing, blames Donald Trump

I forget some of you are in the WR, to be honest. I'm a right of right constitutionalist libertarian (?) and I see Seano, JayE and Shoemaker over there from here and notice but lots of us over there and I'm going to leave this alone in the boxing forum. lol
We're are all loving brothers of the sweet science in this forum, but you can fuck right off if you don't respect the great things the God King Trump has done so far in his reign and it's going to be a long 5 years for you from here as well.

I'm kind of shocked that you guys aren't outraged at the shambolic handling of this by your government. We don't have major outbreaks close to the level that you guys have and only a few days ago we had single provinces which had run more tests than your entire country (not to talk about what the tests cost, etc.). Oscar is full of shit and these events should've been cancelled, anyway (regardless of how this was handled from day one), but essentially everyone outside of the US is appalled at the handling of this so far.
You're Canadian, right?
Your first lady has Coronavirus.

... and? It's entirely likely your President has it, but it really doesn't matter much in terms of the total spread of the virus or the country-wide response to it (they're both at far higher risk than the average person given their travel and people they interact with). I'm not even particularly happy with the total response from my country, but as I said before, we had provinces with a population of less than 5 million which had run more tests than your entire country only a few days ago. We are days/weeks behind you guys in terms of where the outbreaks are, and we've done far more pretty much across the board. Even still, I'm not particularly confident that we've done a good job. What I am sure of is that your response has been disastrously bad.

Another note, a pretty high % of our total cases come from travel to your country (more than from Europe, for example). We are likely to close our border with you. Being unhappy with the US response is universal outside of the US.

Canada took no action until yesterday. What are you guys doing differently? You guys have it too.

Are you serious? We've been testing for weeks at rates much higher than you guys and taking huge steps to prep all of our systems for it since early January. The significant spread of the virus in the US is, depending on the source, weeks ahead of Canada, yet we've tested a drastically higher % of the population than you guys have. I'll say again, from hearing from friends who are either academics in the area or work in the system, we haven't done enough. Even ignoring the drastic structural superiority of our system relative to yours to deal with a pandemic, we've done far more and it's likely not enough. That should be scary.

It's clear-cut negligence by the Trump administration. I'm glad you recognized it, too.

No one has done enough. To Trumps credit, he did suggest banning travel from China early on but was called an alarmist. We should have just stopped non essential travel to and from immediately. None of us in North America should be getting a pandemic disease from China.

Curious. Have you ever criticized him for anything?

Why would I? I think the country is doing well. I think people are clownishly dramatic in regards to anything he says.

really? Not one thing he’s done wrong in almost 4 years?

Suggesting one potentially good thing (I've seen that the effectiveness of travel bans, especially if they're not accompanied by other significant measures, is heavily debated) and sort of half-assing its undertaking it doesn't really make up for other monumental failures. The wealthiest country in the world having nowhere near enough tests now well into significant domestic outbreaks is abject failure (not having them well in advance is abject failure; not having them now defies description).

I'm not someone who likes to put all the greater structural failures of the US on one man who likely doesn't have much say (or interest) in many big decisions. I'd be surprised if a Dem administration would've done drastically better (the testing thing almost certainly as that's just an insane failure) considering the greater weaknesses of your healthcare system and decision-making infrastructure. Maybe they'd be more likely to hand it over to actual experts at an early date, but that's never always been the case (especially if it was Hillary in power). Both parties are entirely complicit in the mess of a system that you have.

What is it you think I should be so upset about?

I’m just shocked that you don’t see a single misstep in his entire 4 years. I think it speaks volumes, you’re not going to step out of line.

It’s the same myopic behavior you accuse Floyd and Canelo haters of.

But you're blaming things on Trump that are beyond his control. I wasn't here to debate the entire 2 party system. Trump isn't responsible for the limited testing available. We literally don't have the tests. We don't have what is needed to manufacture tests for the entire population. No one saw this spread coming. Thats why Europe is being raped by it right now. No one realized the severity of the virus until it had already spread well outside China.

haha WTF? You're being a little bit silly.

I like what Trump has done for the economy. I can't really think of much more that I care about now. Name something I should be angry about. That he fucked a porn star? Because someone said he's racist?

<Ellaria01>

Tell me something he's actually done that honestly upsets you.
