Top dead pro wrestling promotions

I mainly watched WWF but there's no doubt wrestling was so much better when there wasn't such a monopoly. WCW was such a perfect B product, it looked different, it felt different and when guys would jump ship it was so exciting. Jerichos debut it still one of my fondest wrestling memories. And ECW was an excellent alternative product.

AEW is trying to be a legitimate competitor and they definitely have the money for it. They even had a ton of momentum with Punk and Danielson coming in but the writing is just a mess. It already feels like 99-00 WCW. They're just throwing everyone in a stable and hoping everything will work itself out which is obviously a horrible gameplan.

Never watched AEW except for one episode of OSW review and didn't really like what I saw. Haven't really watched wrestling in probably 10 years and never will as long as the current hierarchy is intact.

There are a few great AEW matches worth checking out on youtube but overall it's been pretty disappointing. As for recent great matches; CM Punk has only been in one great match so far and it was against Eddie Kingston, MJF v Darby Allin, Danielson v Omega at GrandSlam, Danielson vs Hangman Page a couple weeks ago. The whole All Out ppv a few months ago was great.

Shawn Michaels Texas Wrestling League...or whatever it was called.

The good stuff in AEW is really, really good. But then they always follow up a match or segment with Orange Cassidy, the Bucks, old and lame Jericho, "fights" between 98 lb Japanese school girls, etc.

You were so close to getting a like until you took a cowardly shot at my girl Riho

By never turning a profit and failing to realize that times were changing
If Smokey Mountain had started in the early 2000's instead of the early 90's it might have stayed in business a lot longer. Maybe even if it held on until the attitude era boom which started the year after they went out of business. The early 90's was a very bad time for all pro wrestling in the states. Even the WWF nearly went out of business.

Cornette marks always gotta make excuses for him that they would reject for anyone else
If this happened, it that happened...
The only thing that happened was that he failed and its no ones fault but his own

So have 99% of all the wrestling promoters since the mid 90's. Vince killed the business that's why it has sucked for the last 20 years. WCW,ECW, TNA, ROH and many more all failed. Some of the best wrestling minds all worked for these companies at one time or another and none of them made it.

Vince killed the business yet hes making record profits
Making a profit, something Jim Cornettes fancy pants little promotion never did

Do you have the same disdain for all the other wrestling promoters that failed?

I dont have disdain just because Im telling the truth, Corny marks just have this guy on such a high pedestal that they hate it when people point out hes just as flawed and full of shit as everyone else

I never said he didn't fail. I just gave some what if's that might have kept him in business. Corny is from a time when the wrestling business was still the wrestling business. Vince killed that though and it's never coming back. I don't agree with everything he says but he's right more than he's wrong on actual wrestling. I could care less about today's product. It's beyond hope. I listen to Corny to hear about the old days when Wrestling was still wrestling.

Too bad he wasnt right that time when he launched that wrestling promotion

It really is, none of the territories would survive past the mid 90's. But all in all Corny had a great career in the business. He's arguably the #2 manager of all time. One of the best Wrestling historians and has a very successful podcast.
