Please don't tell me Sherdog was this clueless about the guy who looked like an utter white belt vs fellow kickboxer Francis / never fought a grappler in his entire professional careeer / was going against an elite grappler in Jon.
We've been talking about this matchup for 2 months. So, simply put, what odds are you giving each to win? *Votes Aren't Public, so you can give your honest opinion without any reservations of later public mockery. *Voting ends just before the fight starts. *Aiming for 500 votes for the poll...

Poll results:
41% thought Jones would win. 45% thought Gane would win. 14% were undecided. That's nearly 60% of the respondents who weren't willing to say Jones would win.
And here are some quotes from people who voted for Gane, so you can see their mindset:
"I see very few reasons to favor Jones in this fight. Jones hasn't been effective at wrestling for years. Jones has also never had to take down and control someone who is bigger, stronger, and more athletic than he is. I don't see where Jones has a clear advantage other than fight IQ and mental toughness."
"Only chance for Jon Jones is if UFC let's him juice which i think they probably will because it's important for UFC to have at least 2 interesting fighters in HW. I think most depends on Gane though. If he remains calm and technical he will win. Jon Jones will gas extremely fast and will prbly be mediocre as he were in his last LHW-fights which he arguably lost so if Gane just calculates and not risking too much i think he wins safely."
"70% Gane because he’s a super legit HW that’s strong where Jon tries to win his fights more now (on the feet and distance control). I lack faith in Jones wrestling, age, time off etc…….. I’m imagining the Jones who wants a kickboxing sparring match to show up (the guy we seen in his last few fights). If I was convinced the old Jon might show up I might go 50/50 or 60/40 Jon."
"I said 70% Gane, Jones just hasn't fought in 3 years, moving up in weight and hasn't been his dominant self since the second Gus fight, to me he is past his prime and isn't as explosive as he once was"
In short, Jones's long layoff, poor recent showings, and tendency to wrestle less than he did in the past led a lot of people to see it going Gane's way. Now, of course, we all have that 20/20 hindsight.
