Toothpick in your mouth during a fight

I like Bendo a lot but the whole thing is really fucked up and he is going to get in trouble. I Tivo'd the event and watched it back last night. You can see for his walk in he had his mouthpiece already in when he was checked by the ref, but they just quickly ask you to show them it's in your mouth, so he obviously had it in his cheek. We only saw his corner in between RDS 4 and 5 but his mouth piece was never taken out by his corner and we all saw it in his mouth after the final horn.. So he must have had it tucked in his cheek the whole time. I did not notice this for either Edgar fight, maybe he just did it for this fight but it will never happen again that is for sure. Guaranteed he will be told to take the mouthpiece out and open wide before he gets in the cage again..

He probably won't have to shit out any squirrels because he said "one" more toothpick thread. As you alluded to, there will be a lot more than that.

All I know is that everyone that walks around with toothpicks in their mouth gives the appearance of being douchebags. As Benson doesn't seem to be a douchebag, he should really try to give it up.

Yeah he seems to be a cool dude. But it's gonna be hard to give it up. It's his nervous crutch, and laugh all ya want, he won't be the same mentally without it.

Scenario: Gil Melendez is popping him in the mouth and shoots for a td. Benson for a split second thinks "shit I miss my toothpick" and that's all the time Gil needs to pop him into unconsciousness.

Benson "no TP" Henderson will lose his next 5 fights in a row and retire.
 
If he had a toothpick in his mouth during the fight that's crazy. For his own safety I hope he doesn't do that anymore. I read somewhere recently that toothpicks are the number one item people choke on.

I don't understand how people can be so surprised that he got passed the commission with it in his mouth.

Seriously, they don't go thru ur mouth like a freaking dentist. Just keep it somewhere in ure mouth..whereever..
 
I thought they made them open their mouths to see if they had a mouth piece in? How did that go unnoticed? Not a big deal at all , just weird, and really fucked if it manages to go down this throat during the fight or he's caught in a choke.

because all you check for in the mouth is to make sure they have a mouth piece. Most of the guys just smile to show you the mouth piece, and I don't think I've seen anybody who actually searches the inside of the mouth.
 
He should have just denied it.... he made himself and the UFC look stupid by trying to cover it up.
 
If you discover that the fighter had smoked marijuana or used testosterone and punished him, now I think this case just a punishment, until the disqualification Fighter
If nothing happens it will be pathetic ...
