Tony was lucky to never face Khabib

i wouldn't agree that his bottom game sucked, but i've been saying forever that khabib would've annihilated him on the ground.

that became clear when kevin lee took him down several times, passed his guard, and mounted him for an extended period of time. if kevin lee can do that to you, khabib will mop the floor with you.

doesn't mean that ferguson's groundgame is bad, but uneducated fans mistake his spamming of triangles from the guard as some world class jiu jitsu. it's not.

There's a reason, those tony fans were making thread left and right about tony being the "nightmare " match up for khabib. We saw a fighter with 0 wrestling, 0 offense from bottom against the cage ( where he ll be against khabib ).

The problem wasn't his chin, his speed, it was his technic, low lvl wrestling, bjj not usable against the cage, cant deal with pressure etc

I always thought Khabib would win but easy to say now that it would have been one sided.

If theyd had fought when their first fight was scheduled it would have been closer.

Khabib was on his way but his stand up hadnt improved to the level it is now and Tony was on fire.

Easy to look at where both guys are at now and judge it on that.

Same as his stand up. Its awkward and aggressive, but Gaethje and Oliveira picked him apart pretty easily with better technique.

I credit Tony a lot, because I think he made it farther than he probably should have just by being tough as fucking nails.

Unless hes a Conor fan,or a colby fan and Pride rules are in place. Then its ok.
 
Khabib would have made it look easier than Oliveira did. I never got the hype around tony. His best win was over Barboza. Hadn't ever fought any of the top 3/4 and people kept talking about him like he was khabibs kryptonite.
 
I wouldn't say lucky, Khabib would likely have beaten him but Ferguson is ALWAYS dangerous. He will always regret never being able to fight Khabib even if it would have been a tough fight that he would have lost.

the problem against oliveria wasn't his chin, his cardio, his speed, the dude has just shitty IQ, and his technic is BAD. That has nothing to do with being washed, that is a fighter finally fighting the top guys in the division showing his real lvl.

Once he was pressured against the cage, his BJJ was nullify , his wrestling suck big time, cant defend a takedown to save his life.

There was never a time where tony had a chance, you delusional fans know it ...
