Tony turned down Michael johnson before Max/Dustin.

khabib has never turned down a fight offered by the UFC. they didnt offer him tony, or anyone else for that matter. Tony has already turned Michael johnson on short notice off the couch at UFC 209, reason being (more money). you tony fans crying that khabib and conor want more money while your guy turns down 2nd tier fights for a few thousand bucks?

tony would have been finished by either Max/Dustin. he gets Knocked down every fight, Anthony pettis tapped to a body triangle by Dustin and was finished by max. but he put tony on his ass with a broken hand.

Tony is hittable and both those guys have way crispier striking than Lando vannata and anthony pettis. they would have finished him 100%.

he knew hes losing and he turned down showing up to his death sentence. he would have missed his title shot either way.

Khabib has also only fought 4 quality opponents lol and his fans do their best to discredit one of them, so to his fans... he has 3.

It's happening right before your eyes and it's written on paper. Not sure why you keep arguing on some fairytale bullshit and other interim situations that had nothing to do with this one.
its not happening before my eyes. what are you talking about. no interim champion was ever denied a title shot while holding that belt. they all were offered title shots unless they themselves got injured. i dont need a contract to realize stuff. if the ufc didnt want tony ferguson near a belt they wouldnt have offered him an interim.

he just delayed his interim shot until 2020 at best.

so 3 quality opponents better than having losses to complete unknowns like both tony and conor (artemji sitenkov, duffy), (darebedyan, jamey toney) for ferguson LOL.

Dustin said he wasn't promised anything. Now STFU.

he doesnt need to personally promised to realize it. youre not promised to be a champion if you beat a champion LOL, youre not promised you cant be fired after you win a fight fair and square. youre not promised you wont be killed by dana white after you shake his hand. do you want assurances for everything you do in your life? this is too stupid, youre like a child.. thick, slow child.

wow if that is true; that is just another bytch move from ufc... sad...

Why would Dustin go out of his way to state it like that though?

I'm not saying winner of Dustin/Max will NOT get the title shot, but the fact that Dustin put it that way is a red flag.

This division has a completely unique landscape right now so making ANY assumptions about what's gonna happen seems foolish.

he turned down johnson for more money? and you guys complain about conor only pursuing money fights? if this guy is still a contender and hes already picking and choosing his fights, can you imagine him as a champion LOL.
the offer Tony got was disrespectfull you clown...

Aldo, hello? Tony was out for only 6 months and got striped....Conor was out for 2 years until he got striped. Khabib is going to be out for a year.....I wouldn't be surprise if he end up pulling out his next fight....

There was no reason he would've been told something like that then mention it himself if something wasn't happening behind the scenes. You're being ridiculous and showing your fear of Khabib having to fight Tony with your pretentious bullshit.

cause he was asked by some reporter "have you been told specifically that youre getting a shot at the belt if you win next?" he answers no and they turn it into a headline. you guys follow mma for a long time and you still dont get that 90% of what fighters say is an answer to a question taken out of context and turned into a click bait article?

tony is an interim champ and conor wasnt out for 2 years. he was strippled 1 year after winning lightweight gold. and 1 year after winning featherweight gold or something close. youre combining two different titles. that was your first mistake.
your second mistake is that you think that an interim title holds as much weight as an actual undisputed title when it doesnt. 6 months is pretty generous for an interim title. he should be thankful LOL.

he was asked by a reporter you moron. hes not going out of his way to tell people he wasnt promised something. a reporter asks him specifically and ofc he answers that he wasnt promised shit. but if he thought he is not getting a title shot next he wouldnt have taken the fight. good lord, youre thick. you think every headline you read about a fighter is them going out of their way to say stuff? its answers to reporters questions you moron.

aldo what? he won the interim and fought max for the undisputed in his very next fight and was finished. aldo what?

he can consider future offers from his couch while hes getting old and further away from the spotlight.
but don't you feel he deserved way more, then guy he already fought and have his best years behind him, wont event mention 50% purse cut :p

Ok? But it's not better than the real GOATs lol

Undefeated with 4 quality wins. Good job. Wants to fight a couple more then retire, smart.

Yes I've followed it and the OVERWHELMING majority of the time the answer wouldn't be "No". It would be something veering toward yes without actually saying it. Like "We didn't discuss it but why else would you have an interim title" or something like that. By saying no, he's possibly insinuating (possibly, not for sure) that the UFC specifically told him that nothing was set in stone. And that would be so that they can leave the door open for Conor or Tony.

Why on earth is anyone offering Tony Ferguson, the former interim champion on a ridiculous win streak, a .50 featherweight coming off a win over fucking Artem Lobov.
This. So his options are fight for another interim title even tho his last one got stripped . OR ..... michael johnson . Disrespect.

Guys get paid more for any title fight, even the fake belt ones like this. Even if he was told it's no guarantee of the next shot at Khabib, he may have taken the fight given the pay bump plus the fact that without it he had zero chance at all in getting the next shot.
