Tony is arrogant, and that's the reason for his downfall

There is a fine line between being unorthodox and being out of control.
Tony is far, far at the end of that spectrum.
He's never actually taken the time to improve and it seems like nobody in his team can even point out any flaws and get him to switch some things up.

Let's call a spade a spade - Tony is arrogant. He does what he wants, how he wants and is fully emersed in his own ideology.

From a P's and Q's standpoint, he's been the same exact fighter since TUF. This entire time he's fought the same way and relied on toughness, cardio and volume to get him through his opponents.

Had he seriously wanted to improve, he could've taken the leap to reach out to some boxers, or go to Thailand for a change, etc.

Tony is stuck in his ways and it's a shame because he has the work ethic and mental fortitude to be a dominant champ.
You might have a point, there a spiritual aspect to martial arts that Tony clearly lacks.

Let's call a spade a spade - Tony is one of the best fighters in UFC history.

All great fighters are arrogant.

Was tony ever really good? Or really durable

I think his endurance took him further than his skill

People have laughed at Betche's hop for years, but she cleared the damn wire.

Out all of the reasons we didn't get Ferguson vs Khabib that was the dumbest. While wearing sunglasses inside he tripped over a wire he couldn't see and tore his ACL.

When I first heard that I thought to myself "nah they got the story wrong. There's no way something that stupid is accurate. He must've been filming a workout and tripped. Nope just walking into the damn studio in sunglasses."

No. Arrogancy lead to aldo getting stiffened in 13 seconds. Not to mention the arrogance of aldo to not tap out whilst yan nearly killed him but still left him in a pool of his own blood keeled over crying.

Tony is a gamer. Not arrogant.

Stop being silly.

Why the Aldo hate? Im not a huge fan of either, but it was more anger than arrogance against Conor.

The Yan fight was brutal and legit getting hard to watch. Most fighters don't tap to strikes though.

Re Connor pure arrogance on aldos behalf, charging in head up hands not defending.

re petr, sure praise how tough aldo was but he never adapted and progressed his game. Has been the same aldo since the faber fight 10 years ago.

no evolvement at all. Just like Tony, as ts says.

Mma fans, some, are just so full with recency bias, monday morning quarterbacks. It's what got him the interim belt, 12 straight wins in the deepest division. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and look for him to have a big bounce back win

Of course it is, but you’re saying it like it’s a fact. You’re not supporting your points adequately. If you’re going to make such an extreme statement you should support it with logic and reasoning, not just whip out your opinion and flop it on the table and ask everyone to respect it.

It’s just a difference in fight styles mate. When have we ever held “wars” against fighters? If that’s how he wins, that’s how he wins. There’s certainly less impressive ways to win an mma fight than getting into a war and coming out on top.
I’m curious, do you watch fights?

How did he get to this level if he never took the time to improve?

LOLWUT?

DC is one of 6 UFC fighters to be multi-division champs.
Yeah and I’d rank him similarly to tony in an all time list. Maybe slightly higher, but not by a huge amount

Man stop overanalyzing the fucking fact that Tony is orrefutably and without question A GREAT FIGHTER. Also Tony did not get to be champion in his career due to GRADE A BULLSHIT on the part of the UFC, and of course ABSOLUTE DOGSHIT luck. Of course he made mistakes as well but not factoring in all of the above factors you sound spiteful. Tell the whole truth if you are going to tell it not just the part to paint someone a clown
