News Tony Ferguson says he won’t fight if Oliveira does not make weight

Tony turned down Chandler is now basically saying he doesn't want to fight Oliveira.

He basically trying to talk this into existence.

Neither Tony (age 37) nor Chandler (age 34) seem very eager to fight right now. But as someone posted in a thread earlier today, the oldest LW champ ever was Sean Sherk at 33...and he only held the belt for a few months. Time is not on their side.

I think he doesn't give a damn this time, he went on the longest win streak of all time in the UFC without ever setting foot in the cage for a title shot.
Silva has the longest streak of all time in the UFC at 16. Not Ferguson.

And Ferguson was interim champ.
And Ferguson would've had his shot at Khabib for the undisputed belt is he took off his sunglasses inside and didn't literally trip over a wire tearing his ACL.
Then he could've fought for another interim title and guaranteed another fight with Khabib but he turned down Holloway and fought Pettis instead and gave Porier the shot at Khabib.

Agreed after seeing Shane young get brutally KO by a guy who missed weight by 5 pounds and still had an hour to cut but chose not to. Fighters should be deducted 70-80% of they’re purse most of these fighters have sponsors so losing 40% is nothing to them.

If you think that was bad, try Rumble vs. Yoshida. A WW who missed weight by 6 pounds and later fought at LHW/HW vs. a small Japanese fighter who probably didn't even cut to make 170. That was probably the biggest size mismatch since weight classes began.

Chandler was eager AF to fight on the October 24th card. The UFC offered him to both Ferguson and Porier who both turned him down.

Chandler is going to be on the McGregor/Porier 2 card fighting Gaethje most likely.

We'll see. I understand why he wants to fight big name guys, but he should probably settle for any decent opponent at this point.

The UFC wants him to fight big name guys. The UFC offers contracts despite what Twitter and Sherdog wants you to think.

Longest streak of someone who never got a shot at the real title.

Ferguson has had a lot of bad luck, like when Khabib pulled out at the last minute because of the tirimasu.

Yea that was scary asf the way every time rumble touched him in those 40 secs you could see the CTE pilling up. WW rumble use to have some crazy KOs like that headkick vs burns

All he had to do was not act like a dope head and not wear sunglasses inside. From all the reasons we didn't get Ferguson vs Khabib that was by far the dumbest reason.

That's stupid since Charles use to be at 145, he'll make weight. Tony's an Idiot.

Good for him. Charles has never missed at LW though, so this most likely won't matter.

Is this really the guy so many of you were touting as the LW GOAT a mere year ago?

He's the co-main and on the downslide. I honestly don't care what this guy does after the circus surrounding his last fight. Now he wants to take weight seriously?? Skip the fight Tony, and flush what's left of your career down the toilet.

Ferguson: I'm on a one fight losing streak. My first loss since 2012.
Sherdog: Downslide!

Why refuse to fight? If Oliveira misses weight, Tony gets a cut of the purse and possibly has the upper hand against a depleted opponent.

Tony doesn’t want to fight
Oh fuck off mate, Tony is being smart right now. That's the intelligent thing to do, ESPECIALLY when he did two weightcuts in his last fight which didn't helped him at all. Even playing field is the least a professional fighter can ask.
