Tony Cecchine - Anyone ever roll with him?

Do you guys know where I can view a list of all the Catch Wrestling moves with their names?

Im guessing you still havent. I can't see the video you embedded here since I'm at work and I can't post YouTube videos up myself at the moment, but I'm guessing it's not the one titled "Tony Cecchine's American Catch Wrestling: Hooks vs Submission Holds (top wristlock / "keylock")", in which he goes on to say a hook is a split second, bone-fragmenting move (the equivalent to a knockout punch in boxing) whereas a submission is a jab, according to him. Look it up.
lol

you're right, you're just guessing that i haven't seen them. watch the video I uploaded. i got it from his video, ripped it and put it on youtube. he has it at the beginning of all of his tapes. This is splitting hairs. Hookers don't break peoples bones when they train, so that means they aren't using hooks?

btw here's my library of his videos. I bet you're going to "guess" that it's not mine.

That's what ya get from a sport played by blue collar miners and steel workers. Not the classiest bunch.

that is call a power guillotine in bjj, or MMA, and its not secret that you can generate much more power with this grip, if there is no arm in, I always use this grip...

Can you give an example of a BJJ BB teaching or showing that move as a "power guillotine"?

Dude, I already understand that... however, you obviously haven't seen the particular scene where Tony says all the stuff I stated previously. I gave you the full title, go look it up on YouTube (since I can't embed it myself right now due to me being at work). I never said if Tony was correct or not, I just said that he said it and that's how HE defined it. And I'm going to "guess" that you've been choked one too many times to have any viable brain cells left if you can't understand this concept.

Well, not really, its in english, we dont have english names for moves down here... If its any good, you can watch groove vs munhoz en hear rogan call it... But i think thats the name its usually referered to...

Pretty sure Kampmann won a fight by Power Guillotine too.

Power Guillotine grips the bicep too I believe with no pressure on the shoulder & trapezius.

Is a 'Ninja Choke' basically a power guillotine but with the grip switched or something? I don't see what the difference between the two is.

I was taught the “power guillotine” and was told it could be around the forearm with the other forearm up the back of the neck/shoulders. But my BJJ instructors don’t exist according to Sherdog because they wrestled, too. For an example of someone from a BJJ background using it in MMA, Miguel Torres. And Fabio Prado, BJJ instructor at Team Alpha Male, shows this, too.

I bought Checchine’s DVD about key locks/americana. It was a waste of money and I felt ripped off. I saw a copy of Billy Robinson’s DVD on a similar subject and Robinson’s version was awesome. Blew the piece of crap I dropped 35 bucks on out of the water.

Edit: Here’s a link to Miguel showing it in a submission flow to Fellice Herrig Combatwire: Miguel Torres submission flow - YouTube

1) You said hooking was "Not gradually applying a submission, but yanking it for an immediate snap and not a tap."; no where did you indicate that "because tony said this it is true" you just made the statement that hooking means you completely finish the submission and crank as fast as you can. False. You say you are arguing with me because I said tony never said that, well guess what, you never said tony said this. I posted a video of tony saying very clearly you do not take the submission to the end.

2) tony also says that "they should only be taken to the extreme in a life or death situation". and that a hook can "be turned into a concession hold". How can a hook be turned into a concession hold? By your logic, the second you hook them, you shattered their bones, tore ligaments, and finished the hold. You are saying that it is impossible to turn a hook into a concession hold (without serious damage being done)

hooking =/= cranking a submission...or else hookers would have no training partners...

Control of the head, and the sprawl position are embarrassingly underutilized in BJJ.

The stuff I've looked at from Cecchine was all very good stuff. I mean, pretty much anyone with a working knowledge of leglocks would agree that a competent grappler could make use of the leg attacks he demonstrates on Lost Art of Hooking.

If the question is whether or not his material features competently explained, serviceable technique, then the answer is absolutely yes. If the question is whether or not it contains material that is earth-shattering, trail-blazing, etc., that's another question. But I think its a pretty good source to seek out a foundation in leglocks.

It feature any standing entries or dynamic transitions and he demonstrates a same-side Achilles rather than a cross-body Achilles, but hey, some guys have the opposite problem.

What's ridiculous is if you can apply a submission well enough to elict a tap from another grappler in training, you could apply that same submission to shatter joints in a self defense situation, all regardless of whatever art you learned the technique from.
This thread is arguing about shades of red on the same apple's skin.

I take it you didn't care to read any of my other posts past my initial one then, otherwise you wouldn't be continuing on with your babbletalk.

Pay close attention from 0:11 - 0:26.

TONY SAID!!

So you're saying a hook means he instantly breaks the arm.

Explain how tony says a hook can be turned into a concession hold. Please enlighten me.

I'm not Tony fuckin' Cecchine, kid. I don't represent him or I don't claim to know any better myself, all I said is that Tony said it. All I know is that his cotton candy hair is a thousand times more brutal than any kid on the internet who self-teaches himself CACC and thinks he knows what a hooker is. His fuckin hair is serious..you need to get your shit together and understand what the fuck is up.

I remember seeing videos of him on you tube and he would always be cranking different submissions on his assistant and making them grimace in pain other than that I think he is probably not as accomplished as he says.

i still dont understand what his school in chicago supposedly is
