A lot of MMA fans hate WMMA and peg it as a low-skill decision fest, and we had 3 WMMA fights in a row that nailed that point home.

There are some very high skilled killers out there in WMMA, but the Rose Namajunas' and Amanda Nunes' of the world are few and far between.

Most women just don't have that KO power, even JJ who is a muay thai world champ is not a KO puncher. So you see a women's fight come on and you know it's going to go 3-5 rounds, so might as well grab a beer.

Watching those fights... it's like watching MMA from 15 years ago.

That's because these perceptions are perceptions of reality.

WMMA sucks.

Yep I skip 80% of women's fights. They are usually boring

People also talk shit when there are KOs because “blah-blah-blah soccer moms”

If it were me, I would use the FOX cards to garner interest from causal or non-fans

I don’t think WMMA is the way to go about that. However, if WMMA is the way you’re going to go, you need to put your best foot forward

3 awful fights in a row.

At least they were in a row so I had hour and a half to do something else

I liked that they lumped them all together. Took a nap then woke up fresh for the good fights.

Yep, yep, and yep. Though I think WMMA actually sells pretty well. Otherwise they wouldn't be keeping it.

That said, WMMA has a long way to go. We have some great fighters, though, like Rose, Joanna, Andrade, Shev, Nunes, Holm, and Cyborg to name a few.

WMMA sucks.
The ammy fights of the men are way better in nearly every state I've been in. Sorry if that crushes feminist delusions.

Its not like watching mma 15 years ago because they still had fight ending power and technique at times.

Dana and Zuffa are lucky to get out when they did.

What's wrong with a 3 to 5 round fight though ?

I don't know... I was happy my girl Randa got the win :)

Well said.

They need the drug dealer approach—give enough interesting free stuff so people will want it and pay for it

yup. the backlash will only get worse over time because women are not fighters. the nunes and cyborgs of the world are a tiny minority.

It was trash tonight. Good god the UFC is really going to shit.....

I tried to put a positive spin on it. First fight, history was made when an Asian actually won a decision, and a robbery at that. I never thought I'd see that happen in my lifetime TBH. Second fight we got to see plenty of Randa's T&A and that's never a bad thing. Third fight...oh hell, even I can't say anything good about that one, that was the drizzling shits.

Most of the male fights didn't have finishes either.

The problem with today's WMMA fights was not the lack of finishes. It was the fact that they looked like sparring matches. The striking looks like an amateur learning to shadow box. By throwing punches outside striking range and hitting nothing but air. Also, by throwing punches that have no intention to land and do damage.

The women who fought today looked like mindless choreographed dancers repeating moves that they rehearse in the gym, without having a background understand of why these moves work, and how they can be transferred from a coach holding mitts to an opponent who is trying to avoid them, and hit you back.

It was essentially terrible choreographed "dancing," and the women had no knowledge of the science and technology of the moves they had learned in the gym.
