Tom isn't taking Gane down for poop. Period.

That kid makes Gane look like DC. Crazy how big he is.

Gane's a bum wrestler and he's lazy. He's said this himself.

Also, what do you mean Gane didn't give two shits about Frank's power? He spent like the first 3 rounds staying away from it for dear life and trying to point fight. It was the smart thing to do, but you're out of your mind if you think he wasn't worried about the big shots coming from Big Frank. He'd have been a moron not to be lol.
That's how Gane always fights. Light footed kickboxer.
I didn't Gane doing what he did in every fight was him "staying away for dear life."

I saw Francis getting schooled on the feet for 2 rounds until he decided to lay top of Gane for the last 3 rounds.

Truthfully, that wasn’t a great performance from Ngannou

At the same time, it’s a testament that it’s very difficult for boxing alone to succeed when you deal with someone who’s a truly great kicker.

People sort of underrate the reality of how difficult it is to actually hit people who dominate the kicking range when you just box

You can still have success

But it’s far more difficult than most people realize.

Jones fought punchers who could KO him, but none of them could them could even hit him.

So, it’s way deeper than a lot of you guys even realize.

I like Ciryl Gane but he isn't a serious fighter. He's extremely talented and athletic but he doesn't have a champion mentality.

I don't think Aspinall would even have to take him.down. If Tai Tuivasa rocked him, Aspinall could knock him out.

Blah blah Tom's KO power....do people forget that Gane didn't give two shits about Ngannou's power?! He wasn't the least but intimidated or affected by it. He clowned Ngannou like a child in every exchange.
You did a lot of mental gymnastics there. Specifically Gane had a broken foot/toe excuse. Clowned Francis or was it that he was barely able to keep away from Francis who was fighting on one leg basically. He had to have full knee reconstruction but was able to beat Gane. So how does a guy with similar KO power to Francis who actually moves like a WW not handle Gane easily?

Having a bad knee you can't plant on affects two big areas. Ability to get TDs and ability to KO. Francis on one leg had Gane running for fear of death and he still couldn't stop Frank from getting TDs. I could probably get a TD on Gane unless he punches me on the back of the head first that is.

Yeh, I'm not saying Gane wasn't winning the striking early. I'm just saying that he was avoiding the big power and wasn't "not giving a shit" about Frank's power. He was absolutely giving a shit. That's why he was avoiding it, fighting smart, and not getting KOd like most of Frank's other opponents.

And like there were times where he was avoiding it for dear life. A couple of times he legit ducked and ran. That's not dumb or cowardly. It was smart fighting. Other dumbos might have just stayed in there and got obliterated.

what is it, an hotcat?

This reminds me of Sherdog before Ngannou vs Stipe 2 where you see the limitations of most human brains in that they don't have the capacity to conjure any thoughts beyond what they have already seen, so since Stipe took Ngannou down at will in the first fight, their limited minds assumed with certainty that it would play out exactly the same in the rematch.

Now we have Gane, who actually was always a pretty decent grappler and has only been exposed by Francis the hulk in his prime with the element of surprise, then Jon fucking Jones, and supposedly Volkov in the rematch, but Gane had a broken foot and toes which obviously made an impact.....

So they take this info into the little Celeron processor in their head and extrapolate that even a non wrestler like Aspinall will just take Gane down at will because Jon Jones did, and Francis did to some extent many years ago.

But times have changed.

Now Gane trains with and is the grappling equal of a BJJ blackbelt David Fotsing, that makes Ngannou look like a MW. Aspinall will have no chance but to stand and we know how that goes. Blah blah Tom's KO power....do people forget that Gane didn't give two shits about Ngannou's power?! He wasn't the least but intimidated or affected by it. He clowned Ngannou like a child in every exchange.

"Now we have Gane, who actually was always a pretty decent grappler"

Dude come on

If Francis can, Tom can too.

Gane fanboys are so delusional. It blows my mind he’s been exposed countless times and yet because he’s jacked and has pretty (powerless) kickboxing, some of you STILL think he’s an elite fighter.

Agreed, @AndrewGolota48 is pretty thick. That's why he keeps making dumb as fuck threads

I don't quite remember that fight, but stats show it was a 5 rounder that ended in 2, and Gane stopped the  one takedown Spivac attempted?

Yes, he used excellent footwork to not even give him many real chances, then stuffed the living dogshit out of Spivac's attempt and took his back.

Before the Jon fight, people were making a big deal out of Gane training with an undefeated dagestani to improve his wrestling, that man name, Shamil Gasiev.
Gane hasn't just gotten outgrappled by Jon and Volkov, he has kept making the same kind of mistake that cost him the Francis fight.

But man, Gane beating Tom would be the worst and funniest outcome. Jon would retire on the spot and wouldn't shut up for a year about how MMA math now proves he never ducked Aspinall. Heavyweight would be fully exposed as the complete farce it is.
