Tom Cruise just got manlet-shamed

It seems fairly obvious that if you want to make an action franchise called Jack Reacher, you would get a manlet.

what's Casper Van Dien doing? Seems like it would be perfect for him.

I do think the criticisms of casting Tom were legitimate despite that he is the greatest movie star in history, but I'm with the forum in laughing at the notion they wouldn't take Tom in a heartbeat in spite of taht.
Blows my mind that the first Mission: Impossible came out in '96. I could have sworn it was an early-2000's movie.
Tom is the best action movie lead in Hollywood today. I'll fight anyone who suggests otherwise. His body of work is PEERLESS among today's stars. lol@the Marvel dorks or the Rock worshippers.
Top Gun came out in 1986, and Tom still easily put out the best résumé of A-list action blockbusters for the 2010's among leading men. Not even close. Sorry, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. As much as I love you, it's true.

Fugg this talk about Tom Cruise playing Lestat. The man is a goddamn vampire.

I call bullshit on the claim Tom got manlet shamed.
Someone (or actually pretty much everyone) said he is to short for the role, wich is true, there is no shame in that for anyone.

His M:I series alone elevates him above the 80's action icons this forum fetishizes, particularly the last 3 installments. And then he's got underrated sci-fi masterpieces in Minority Report, War of the Worlds and Edge of Tomorrow. From the tense urban noir of Collateral to the brilliant character study of Magnolia, Cruise has blessed us with some of the finest movies of the past 20 years.

Tom Cruise has finally found a mission he can’t accept: growing a few inches taller.

This was the best part.

But I seriously doubt this is the real reason. They probably couldn’t afford him or he didn’t want to do tv. I mean, has he ever been on a tv series? He’s strictly a movie star.

Isn't this the same though as Tom Hardy playing Bane? In the comics he's like 6'8 and Hardy is five foot 9.

Exactly what I thought lol. In no universe should Batman be several inches taller than Bane. I like Tom Hardy, but come on. Didn't help that the movie itself was a massive disappointment.

Tom did a fantastic role playing an even more beloved literary character despite Lestat being 6 feet tall in the books and Tom had to stand on a board when filming scenes with Brad Pitt.

He absolutely killed it as Lestat. One of my favourite performances in a movie and the GOAT pure evil mofo P4P.

Tom Cruise is the biggest movie star of all time. lol @ this guy thinking he'd wanna be in the TV version of the story anyway.

I imagine like another poster said he turned it down and they're doing damage control by pretending they opted to replace him instead.

I was watching the last Mission Impossible and Cavill towers over Cruise lol.
<DCrying>
But for real, as if he gives a shit about being in a tv show.

It's a TV show. Tom Cruise ain't doing TV, that's ridiculous. He didn't get replaced, he didn't even consider it.
The writer was happy to have Tom on board when he was being paid a fuckton of money to do so, but now that he's going back to TV he won't have the budget to hire him even if he wanted to, so I have to agree with you.

The writer is a massive dick for claiming it's the fans that felt Tom Cruise was too short for the role. He's too short for the role because he is significantly shorter than 6 foot 6.

this is how secure and confident Cruise is- that he is willing to costar next to a younger, hotter, taller man and still has no trouble outshining him.

inb4 pix of Tom in elevator shoes....

“HEY! That’s our sister!”

“She a good kisser?”
