NGL I've been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but that list of things he's having trouble with is so obviously put together by someone thinking about lawsuits.

Can't play with his kids, drive, quality of life stuff. Then, can't shake a hand, and has balance and coordination issues, so clearly can't dodge a punch.

Maybe they're not thinking suits and he instead has a publicist that was an attorney, either way it's written very Saul Goodmanish.
Having your vision fu**ed up will cause these things. Your "inner" balance will be compromised and your brain has to adjust. Till then it feels that all the things, gestures that were automatic feel awkward and unusual. As if you´re put in a different body for the first time. I had some similar issues for a while, had to wait 1,5-2 months for things to get "normal" again. And yeah, you can drive (with risk), you can keep doing sports, etc. but everything feels weird as if you´re drunk or sth for a while.

That´s why i dont get people saying its nothing, it was just an eye poke, he couldve kept fighting. Yeah, you can still punch, kick, but your whole body is fu**ed up bc of it and you´re at like 20-30%. You can be blind and still drive your car, doesnt mean you should or its a good idea...

anyone else wish this entire organization goes up in smoke over this eye poke thing? just shut it all down and give pride back to the yakuzas and restart that. so sick of it this tbh.

the usual manipulative narration that some people still like to trust.
those are the effect of the post surgery, in some days they'll fade away but obviously he phrased them in such a way to make the dumb people believe that they are something related to the foul he received 4 months ago.

No one is disputing what impaired vision does. That’s not even debatable. What is unknown - and being argued - is whether Tom’s vision was impaired at all, and if so, how much. The general feeling is that he’s greatly exaggerating it (at a minimum) or even completely making it up.

There was a literal medical diagnosis showing the actual issue that was effecting Tom.

Be careful with the dipshittery you read on here and what you actually believe from it.

Is the diagnosis the Brown Syndrome from a questionable doctor hand-picked by Tom and his dad? Because I remember the UFC saying he was fine. The little bit I read about the surgery also seems very much like when I had Lasik, in terms of procedure and impact, and sounds rather elective.

But I don’t claim expertise on the topic so feel free to correct me if any of the above is wrong.

Importantly, sorry to hear you had an eye injury, hopefully it’s all good now?

Hand picked doctor eh?

I guess the "hand picked doctor" managed to find a whole lot of other things too.

Here's the reality - it was a real injury, found by a real doctor, that required real surgery to fix. I don't care which dumb conspiracies you decide to believe.

If you think you can get away with having these things diagnosed and treated by a "questionable doctor" with the UFC watching too - you're sadly mistaken. Let the other dumbasses around here believe that.

Half of the “diagnoses” listed completely rely on the patient’s feedback. It’s things like “can you see to the right?” and “what letter is this?”. They can VERY easily be manipulated. It’s like a kid saying “my tummy hurts”…in this case “I see double!”

It’s ok that you believe Tom 100%. I personally never had anything against him but find many of his behaviors - in-fight, after the fight, and in the ensuing months - highly questionable.

There are many other fighters who had eye pokes and injuries over my 20 years of watching the UFC, and I never questioned them.

Heck, I even saw stars myself for two days straight, after an incident in sparring. So I’m generally forgiving and aware of these things.

Cool so how do you fake the imaging clearly showing the soft trauma tissue and the tendon tears then?

It's so blatantly obvious that it's a real injury, there's no denying reality. You can't wish this away.

Note that I wrote “half” of the symptoms. But in fact, the rest is debatable too. You can definitely have soft tissue trauma (which is a very broad term) and tendon tears, without your vision being impaired to the extent that Tom is displaying. Just ask any eye doctor, they’ll tell you there can be a wide range of impact.

Did he get eye poked? Yes. Is it as bad as he portrays to the public? Questionable.

You seem very invested in something that neither of us have real, tangible proof of, so I won’t debate with you. I just wanted to point out that there are reasonable people who look at the situation and doubt Tom. It’s not a conspiracy, ill intentions or anything like that. Just critical observation, leading to reasonable doubt 🤷‍♂️

So despite the very real damage the imaging showed you still have to call Tom a liar about any symptoms caused by it just cause?

Yes, because the damage itself is not a direct link to any specific level of GRAVITY of symptoms. Any eye doctor will tell you that. Some have similar injuries to Tom’s and have little trouble. Others have very bad symptoms.

It’s even true with any injuries, especially with athletes. Something as small as a meniscus tear conpletely ends some pro athletes and they are in pain for life. Others have tears and don’t even feel it.

Edit: and it’s not “just cause”. I already said his in-cage, post-fight and behavior since leads to questions regarding the extent of the symptoms.

Based off of what?

Based off of what?
Real life? Speaking to doctors over the years? Personal experience with eye injuries and surgeries? Common sense? Observation? Doing MMA and being around fighters? The list goes on. Again, you are free to believe what you want. I just tried to give you another perspective. You are free to reject it.

That medical report had the wrong font but neither a hospital's header nor a doctor's signature.
Aspinalls aren't intelligent, but they're clever: if they'd put a signature or a header on it, they'd be facing a forgery charge right now.

Poor Tom. If it‘s true then this eyepoke ruined his life. It doesn‘t look true though. Imagine if Tom keeps on doubling down on the rethoric to silence haters, thereby painting himself in a corner.

Wait, whats this imaging showing the actual damage? And so far he posted an photo of him getting lasik treatment, not sure lasik is used in that kind of surgery, those are for cornea issues, as in he might not use glasses anymore, but i doubt that fixes tendon tears.

Do we even know the name of the actual procedure he got done?
