Well, those are two comoletely different moments. He might be thinking strictly best with the mt rushmore, and might be a bit more liberal with terms with Pierce. Or maybe he mispoke, which is understandable because a lot of people do use them interchangeable.

Or maybe he just thinks there is only one greatest, and the rest are basically honorable mentions. So it may disqualify you from being the best/greatest, but you can still get an honorable mention.
