From what the guy told me, his toe never got stuck in the mat. He said he planted his foot, mostly on his toes, at the same moment I pushed him back...apparently it was hard enough to do that to his toe.

I've seen that happen to a guy's 2nd toe. I know a guy who had the exact same thing shown above happen to his big toe. I guess it's pretty common in grappling.

The guy who had that happen to his 2nd toe just put his flip flops on and drove to the hospital. THE DAMN BONE WAS TOUCHING THE FLIP FLOP!!!

I torn up some ligaments in my big toe when I had a guys back and he tried to roll into me and it trapped my foot between him in the mat.

I could've easily ended up like that! It happened a year ago and still hurts to this day but now I feel lucky!
