Hey guys, long time reader...anyways, while rolling the other day the guy I caused an injury upon the guy trying to take me down. Still don't know what exactly I did or how he positioned his feet, but when I stuffed the takedown...the following injury occured...

Now I've been rolling for the last year or so...and I've never seen this kind of injury happen...people hyper extending their knees/arms sure...but never a bone out of the skin type injury. If I can recall correctly, this has never happened in the UFC/Pride/Strikeforce either...maybe I'm wrong on that one. Has anyone come across an injury like this while rolling?

I think I've seen this pic before....Anyway it's probably the toe stuck between the mats that causes this. Rare but has different levels. Exposed fracture like this is pretty rare.

Damn. I doubt I'd be able to sit still and take a picture of it, I'd be running around yelling for a doctor.

He was laying down while we tried to calm him down and one of the other guys took that picture with their phone...got him to the hospital and they got him fixed up...6 weeks with a boot thing on. Pretty gross...but surprisingly not as much blood as you would think for the bone to be sticking out.

This is why I don't practice takedowns on puzzle mats.

Seen that exact thing happen before, and another one of the guys training that day said it wasn't the first time he'd seen it in his several years of training. Apparently it's somewhat common.

The guy I saw didn't even have a broken toe, it was just completely dislocated and sticking through the skin, and as mentioned by someone else it didn't really even bleed at all.

AHHHHHH NO. WHY DO I KEEP CLICKING ON THIS THREAD ALL OF THE TIME. Horrible! All of the pictures! AGH! Maybe I should edit all of that long fake bullshit I wrote on the "excuses not to compete" and just say it's about me avoiding to get my damn toe on those puzzle mats and ending up like that!

    Thats a pretty bad one.

I saw and ankle injury like that once happen on the wrestling mats.

The guy cried like a baby, and no one blamed him. It was similar to these pics, just imagine it with more blood, and a bunch of little bone fragments.
