Pain.
Very likely even rougher waters ahead. The Democrats seem largely fine and even complicit with the awful shit Trump is doing (it allows them to be the "good cops" and mop up the mess without actually changing the system that produced this mess) and the deterioration of the liberal order in western countries will likely continue due to their failings to reconcile with the private interests draining their countries and their complicity in imperial criminality. Leftists will continue to be proven correct in our criticism of liberalism and Capitalism. Lotta liberals have changed their tune or shut the absolute fuck up on attacking us after seeing liberal complicity and complacency with this regime's crimes as well as their complicity abroad, like the hoity toity liberals
who support fucking genocide. All the rainbow stickers ain't washing the stench of imperialism off. Those rainbows and even the veneer of performative social progressivism/virtue signaling fade real fucking quick when shit gets real, which will happen when one has no actual principles. I digress. On the plus side, normie libs are pissed, which is good. More of them see the game for what it is. Trump has taken the mask off this empire/system and if there's only one positive from this mess, that is it. He just says it and I appreciate that, he's opened people's eyes. No more pretending. We are the baddies.
Dems will likely crush in the midterms despite this comically inept regime's attempts to rig the midterms. This may stem the bleeding a bit but I don't think it will stop it.
Trump has never faced consequences for anything he's done and while his and his cabinet's criminality is to insane banana republic levels, I'm not convinced anything is going to happen to him nor his cronies based on this and the lack anyone held to account after the Civil War and Nixon, not to mention even Epstein. If this continues, the US decline will accelerate even faster than it's going meow, this bullshit is the gasps of desperation from a decaying empire and a despot who's lost critical support. He is only able to achieve all this because the system is setup to concentrate power to begin with. If this regime is held to account for its criminality, it will set a precedent. I don't think those in power want to do that, hence why Obama didn't hold the Bush era war criminals to account, nor the bankers who crashed the economy for that matter.
Seems like a solid chance the AI bubble starts to if not outright bursts, it's the extent of what the damage will be that's hard to see, this bubble is different to previous ones though this does feel very "roaring 20s". This K shaped economy can only last so long. It seems to me it's just all
when this comes to a head, not
if. 2026? Maybe. It's largely guesswork.
That said, I think it'll become clear to the majority and even these AI techno lords themselves the limitations of machine learning. Machine learning/LLMs =/= AI. This snake can only eat its own ass for so long.
Some Dems like Ro Khanna will attempt to hold Trump's regime to account but the effort will be insufficient.
BRICS will continue to grow and possibly expand to more countries, fueled by the US' desperate imperialism. The more the US tightens its grip, the less of a hold it has. I am rather confident on this one issue. The world has had enough of our bullshit but the dollar is still powerful and working around US hegemony takes time and calculation.
A lotta people in the US will die from lack of healthcare/rising costs of everything. Well, rather, that number will tick up as things were already bad prior to Trump.
Gold and silver will continue to do well.
China's rise will continue. The digital Yuan will gain more prominence. The US' brazen incursion into Venezuela will have more countries looking to China.
Housing crisis will get worse internationally.
I don't know if some big event will take place - that's pure guesswork - but I am reasonably confident the decline will continue. I don't see any New Deal coming to save us nor do I think this system can be reformed (at least not without altering the structure so much that it becomes essentially unrecognizable which I don't see happening, at least not in the near term). We've already done that. It's been undone and we've a new form of what could be called technofeudalism to deal with and a lotta western countries are becoming more authoritarian.
One of the possible presidential contenders in the US for the Dems in 2028 killed UHC in his state and doesn't think billionaires should be taxed more. Not real inspiring.
All in all, more progress down the river of pain with a possible couple of life rafts being thrown in.
Lol.
