To those who b**** out fighter pay and also illegally stream

You do realize if you paid for streams then fighters will have more money in their pockets AND uncle Dana will get to keep his $500 million, produce artificial snow for his kids, and go on pawn stars and drop an entire roster’s worth of salaries on dilapidated metal.

The UFC just had their best year ever, according to the the big pink goof, and the percentage of revenues paid to the fighters HAS GONE DOWN.

People that use illegally streams aren't fans. No matter what lies people say they always have buffering issues, and many times cut off around the main event.

That would only make a difference for the few fighters who have PPV revenue in their contract (who are already getting paid decent money)

It's the fighters at the bottom of the cards/rankings who are struggling. Increasing the PPV pay isn't going to help the unranked fighters or people on the regional circuits

I find it odd that people having this discussion focus so much on the big names who actually make 6 figures per fight. If those people can't manage their money properly it's their own fault.

It's also hard to justify paying more money to completely unproven fighters, which risks a company going out of business if the talent is paid more than they bring in...

Essentially this argument will just go in circles forever

The owners of the UFC over paid. They have years and years to pay off the debt they owe.

Good thing i dont stream then.. i watch it on the seven seas the day after. So since i dont stream it im allowed to bitch about fighter pay. So i guess i found a loophole.<Kpop775>

if they are managing to keep compensation below a threshold % of revenue, more revenue allows for higher compensation within their tolerances for profit margin.
Except that hasn't taken place in 20 years. The minimum salary for UFC 50 was 8k. Now it's 10 or 12k.

The revenue the company receives from then to now has gone up by like 10000%. The valuation of the company is now like 7 billion when it used to be in the millions. The math doesn't add up

Not sure where you got that. Guys were making 2k back then. Gsp was on a 3/3 contract.

The music industry thought the same thing too. They thought if streaming wasn't a thing that those same millions of people would be buying those shitty albums for $21.99 a pop or whatever they thought they could get away with. It's just not true, those people simply wouldn't be listening. The people streaming UFC are not-now and not-ever shelling out $65 a month to watch PPV events.

There are better ways to support your favorite fighters. See if they have their own website, OnlyFans, or other online store where you can support them directly.

Do you really think that if the UFC made more money they'd give that money to the fighters? Some people are either really naive or dumb.

This is another reason fans are triggered by Jake Paul because he’s a smarter businessman than almost all the fighters in the UFC.

Retarded take is a retarded take lol

You don't understand how business works, you don't pay your employees based on how profitable your business is. Ask any Amazon truck driver.

This would only benefit guys like Mcgregor who can negotiate for a cut of the PPV, and if that's the case they're already paid more than enough.

Here's the situation simplified:
Dana gets 90% the fighters get 10%.
  • 1000 people pay 10 for the fight, Dana receives 9,000 and the fighters get 1,000.
  • 2000 people pay 10 for the fight, Dana receives 18,000, the fighters get 2,000.

Now if Dana gets even 60% and the fighters 40%. In the first situation, Dana now gets 6,000, the fighters get 4,000. Oh wait, I meant Dana gets 5,999.99. There's a spare cent to be shared among the retard Dana asslickers who make pathetic threads like this.

You see the problem now kid? The fighters receive only 16% of the earnings. It doesn't matter how many more people pay to watch them fight, the money's still going to Dana and the fighters get shit.

If this were a charity would you use the same argument? Oh, the bosses are taking 90% of the money, let's not blame them, it's the people's fault for not giving more so more trickle down to the needy children.
