Tito: Cyborg can't make 135

Exactly. Ronda talking all the trash and she won't fight 10 lbs up makes her look like a fool. You want to fight her so bad, fight her @ 145.

You failed to mention the other side of that story.
Cyborg is not only talking trash also, but she is the one that first initiated it. So doesn't she look as foolish if not more foolish to trying to pick a fight with somebody smaller than her.

Dana keeps saying "She doesn't wanna fight Ronda" No Dana Ronda won't fight her at 145, she has made that clear more than once..

Exactly why should Ronda get to fight at her ideal weight buy not Cyborg? Asking either of these fighters to move weight puts the one who moved at a disadvantage.

I definitely hear what you're saying, but you play by the rules in place. And for guys/women who want to have a size advantage and don't mind draining their body to do so, they will have that advantage.

Personally, I think there's something to be said for fighting at your own weight. Do you think a guy like Edgar would be anywhere near as durable if he went through a ridiculous weight cut?

Totally agree on Edgar. Recovery time is one of those things thats heavily affected my big weight cuts. If he wasnt fighting close to natural weight at 155; Gray Maynard would have won both of their championship fights in the first round.

Personally I think Rousey is nervous about fighting a muai thai wrecking machine with legit ground skills like Cyborg. Why? Rousey started her career at 145. The 135 division was the easier route to the championship.

You understand the whole "champion of a division thing" right?

There is no division yet. There's only one fight signed and two fighters (last I checked at least, I think.)

Also, Strikeforce had two weight divisions. Dana only decided to keep one of them. The one with the champion he has a boner for.

Edit: is there a 125 division?

Dana isn't trying to make Cyborg cut the weight. All he is doing is telling her that if she wants to fight in the UFC she has to make one of the available weight classes.
I'm pretty sure at this point since Strikeforce is gone, all Cyborg would have to do is ask to be released from her Zuffa contract and it would be a done deal.
At this point, I don't think Dana nor any other Zuffa execs really care one way or the other about Cyborg.

Actually there was only 1. After Cyborg was caught cheating and was stripped, Coker said he was eliminating the 145lb division and that if Cyborg came back she would have to fight at 135.

UFC should make a 145 lb division for women and make Cyborg the champ immediatly.

There is a division. The 135lb division.
The men's flyweight division started with 4 guys, so how is that different than where the women's 135lb division is right now. Actually there are way more 135lb women available because their contracts are with Zuffa. They don't have to re-sign them to use them in the UFC.

Because Cyborg is a proven cheater who has been stripped of her belt. If she wants to regain some relevance in the sport maybe she should lose some of her ill gotten muscle mass and try to fight someone without chemical assistance.

I like how Tito has to remind us it's a female we're talking about because, objectively, it's a little hard to tell sometimes.

You don't just give somebody a belt.
The only time they have given belts without having to fight with them is when they merged Zuffa promotions and there wasn't any UFC title holder. Basically the concept is they are merging divisions, and since there isn't a UFC title holder, they are champion by default.
Cyborg ISN'T a champion.

Dana wants Cyborg to be anorrexic at 135 and fight Ronda. There is no way she can cut to 135 without looking like a zombie.

wtf r u smoking? 1lb of muscle weighs the same as 1lb of fat. (hint...it's 1 lb)

but muscle does weight more per volume, which is what that person was probably pointing out

I know I'm going to sound like a dick and a sexist, but I just don't see the longevity in this division. Unless there is a wealth of untapped talent of 135 female fighters out there who will really captivate fans, all WMMA in the UFC is looking like is a division with one star (Rousey) squashing a brought in opponent. I just don't see other female fighters getting recognition or taking spots on the card. Possibly we could see female-only events that would better build competition.

Even with Mens 125 lb division (which I really like, btw) after a year or two how many different fights could they possibly have with a talent pool that small (puns ya'll) and keep a good level of interest? Time will tell.

Also, is there a list of shown list of women now under the UFC banner? I want to see, because not all SF fighters were picked up.
