Title Shot for Curtis Blaydes

K-1 Lewis is future GOAT. Everyone else is a POS.

<CanYouSeeMeNow>

Unpopular opinion here: Blaydes UD's Gane easily.
Is it really unpopular?
I don't agree he beats him easily but Blaydes is a bad matchup for Gane. His striking is very underrated and obviously he is the best HW wrestler arm.
Gane would have difficulties using his leg and body kicks, he would be in danger of TDs in the clinch.

Now Gane would be tough for Blaydes too, he moves a lot, is athletic with great cardio, has submission threats.

The man has a good resume and has only lost to Ngannou and Lewis. He would actually be an easier matchup for Jones as well instead of Gane. It seems the lack of a flashy style and persona is costing him.

Yo, let me tell you something, Sergei Pavlovich deserves way more credit and attention than Curtis Blaydes. Like, what is Blaydes even bringing to the table compared to Sergei? That man has a straight up insane record of 17-1, with his only loss coming from Alistair Overeem. That's it! 17 wins and only 1 loss, and people still sleeping on him. It's a shame, cuz Sergei brings the heat every time he steps into the octagon.

And for real, what's the deal with folks saying he's an "easier" matchup for Jones? That's straight up disrespectful. Sergei is a straight up beast, and I wouldn't want to be in the octagon with him, no matter who I am. The man's got skills, power, and the heart of a lion. He's got what it takes to take down any opponent, and he deserves way more
recognition and respect than he's getting.

So, to all the haters out there who still sleep on Sergei Pavlovich, wake up and smell the coffee. This guy's a true fighter and a top-level talent in the UFC, and it's time for him to get the respect and recognition he deserves.

I read your post in a Jimmy Hart voice and it made me happy

But seriously - I agree with you. UFC has done a sh:t job in promoting actual skilled young HW like Pavlovich, focusing instead on sloppy brawlers like Tuivasa or failed experiments like Hardy.

I'm still annoyed we didn't get to see Aspinall and Blaydes play out properly. I think that's made it harder for Blaydes as it's put an asterix against one of his wins.

I do find it weird when people speak about Blaydes as if he's gone 11-0 and is getting ignored by the UFC, losing 3 times is a big deal when you're not trying to be marketable either.

Like many problems in the UFC, this gets sorted out by fighters fighting more often.

The guy can barely strike and got put into a coma by Black Beast and KOd twice by Ngannou. What the fuck lol? He shouldn't be anywhere near a title shot
I agree Blaydes should not get a title shot yet but getting KOed by Black Beast and Francis who would KO an elephant is not a stain on anyone's record.

Why would Stipe get the winner of Gane/Jones when he hasn't fought in 2 years, and the last time he did he got slept sir?

I feel the exact same way about Jones fighting for a title after 3 years of sitting on the sidelines.

That is why you are commenting on Sherdog rather than running a Mixed Martials Arts promotion. Having Jones return and risk his undefeated record on the line without a title shot is horrific business. Likewise with Stipe, who is considered the UFC HW GOAT so having him lose to some bum isnt good for business.

Yeah I'd rather fight geriatric Stipe too rather than the young killers.
Jon doesn't deserve to be dictating any stipulations sir.

He doesn't even deserve the title shot he's getting for that matter.

Why does he NOT deserve a title shot ? MMA GOAT and one of the biggest names in the sport. You're spouting nonsense and I don't even care for Jones but saying he does not deserve a title shot is on the mount rushmore of dumb takes by MMA fans.

Ik we definitely don't agree here, I don't see a guy sitting out for three years as deserving as guys that have been grinding sir.

He's done more than any of them combined. He's earned his shit. Whatever he wants, brother.

I get your thought process sir, but my brain doesn't work that way.

You or I can't walk into work and say "hey, remember how good I did my job 6 years ago?....I want a raise/promotion for it."

Depends on your field of work, and it happens more often than you think. People are regularly recruited for jobs based on their prior accomplishments.

Jones has been preparing for, and was promised the title shot, for years. He, his employer, and the fans were aware. He's earned it, mang.

Him losing to Derrick Lewis hurts him imo. U gotta fight like 15 guys to get a title shot after that.

Yeah go figure I don't think a guy that has sat on his ass for three years doing fuck all....a guy that has looked like shit his last few fights gets to skip the division.

That's like saying the Patriots have a million championships....but they've looked like shit the last couple of years............but hey, lets let them skip the division and go right to the Superbowl....smfh.

Jon Jones is a douchebag that has continually fucked himself, the promotion, and other fighters over...fuck him.

Jon has gotten in better shape and bigger in between LHW fights, he hasn't been preparing all that hard sir.

That's a terrible analogy, bro. Think more along the lines of a multi-platinum band headlining an event after not touring or putting out an album for 3+ years.

You're intentionally missing the point. Him, the UFC, and all of us have known that was the plan since he vacated. It's not some unexpected and privileged match making that came out of nowhere. He's never been bigger than he is now btw.

And I wouldn't agree with that either sir.
Too much give me for what I accomplished in the past.

Jon has looked like dog shit as of late.

Accomplishments and drawing power are the two driving factors of this business, buddy. Nobody has ever been more deserving.
