News Titanic Tours Submersible missing in atlantic ocean

Yeah he really was too cavalier about it. It would've been ok if it was shallow water. The smaller shallow water submersible his company used they bought, and it looks like the real deal. This one - Tritan - just doesn't look confidence inspiring. If you look at his interview with Teledyne Marine he says he was warned about not using carbon fiber for the center section. He said the critics were wrong because carbon fiber tech had advanced and if done right then it's fine. He said critics also said the same thing about using carbon fiber in aircraft but aircraft now use it.

He does seem like a smart guy though, graduated from Pricenton , built his own airplane, and other subs. He just got too confident in his team's abilities. His company did get help from the U of Washigton and NASA to build Tritan.

Oh I agree he had a lot of ,well ,processing power in developing but his decision making and inability to take criticism makes him as a total package quite stupid in terms of product development. With the German customer a whole part of the stabilisation system broke of while they were transported into the water. They then welded it back on while they were sitting inside and immideatly after were going on their dive. They had several tries with malfunctions until they got to the Titanic. Honestly sounds like russian roulette . It's like crash landing 4x trying to fly and the 5th time it works and you tell the world you have revolutionized flying.

Have listened to two people detailing their experience with Titan and both described it as a chaotic experience that felt improvised from the start and both needing at least four tries until something not broke or just went out.

I despise how these half a dozen or so rich douchebags floating around at the bottom of the ocean while being piloted by a game console controller, and who don't give a shit about us are getting more of our attention than children being shot up by egotistical incels.

This is what is wrong with us. 36 fucking pages of focus in comparison to how much attention we give for real tragedy.
Well it makes for an interesting story regardless, and that's all it's ever came down to. No matter what we talk about, there is inventively going to be something somewhere in the world that is of "higher importance" in the grand scheme of things. But some of these things are a constant. Like the migrant boat, that happens like every week now, heaven forbid. There's no easy fix to the migrant crysis

Ah, this whole thing reminded me of that episode in "Get a life" where they build a mail order submarine in the shower and get stuck inside

Why would they be found? It's a tiny 10m white dot in the sea with hundreds of miles to be covered. The genius choose the worst possible colour for finding them.
The color doesn't really matter much. They would be searching for this vessel using Hydrographic survey equipment (not searching the sea floor with their eyes).

I don't believe that's what's wrong with us. I think its just human interest, imagining what it's like to be trapped like that is novel.

If it's on the surface I think he means? (Still a possibility)

Below is a link to an article about the lawsuit filed that challenged his lack of porotype testing. This was all foretold.

Good point. Never the less, this is extreme tourism. Like extreme sports. If MLB had similar injury rates as x games athletes there would be hell to pay but although they are both sports, they aren't really the same. They don't even drug test x games competitors because it'd stifle their drug induced creativity. Too much deep sea regulations might scuttle the brilliant innovations that we are witnessing here today.
See the video in the quote above. It's actually too few regulations that caused the "brilliant innovations that we are witnessing here today."

That works when they have surfaced? That's what the idea was that they surfaced. I thought it's on a ship and the sub has to be submerged to be looked for.

It's been reported that they have 2 more hours of oxygen left in the tank.
6:00am EST is when it cuts off.

Game over man

Well.... it would have happened nearly 3,000 meters below sea level.

I have no idea how loud a 20-ton submarine implosion would be at that depth, or how far away any microphones would be to detect it.

Yes, they were constantly communicating... until they weren't communicating at all

That's what I was questioning earlier in this thread. Supposedly they have audio of the submarine passengers hitting the walls every 30 minutes as an SOS.

That audio sounds damn clear, like the microphone couldn't have been 100 feet away from the sub... yet 18 hours later there's still no indication they're anywhere closer to finding the sub.

Whales singing could be heard thousands of miles away... but tbey're freaking loud to begin with.

So I find it difficult to believe fists banging on the inside of a submarine with walls so thick they hold back the extreme water pressure of 4 KM below the ocean's surface... and the banging could be heard for multiple miles underwater?
Man i truly hope we will find out soon. We probably never will though.

Do they have a "captain" on this sub?
I mean you seen it being built, you control it with a cheap joystick and there has been problems on several tours... Yet you keep showing up for work.
The pay and benefits much be something special.

The guy who runs the company and created this garbage can with propellors is also the pilot and he's down there with them.

The German was saying they reattached the stabilising system with zip ties!

Man... The arrogance is astonishing. Everything else aside though, he truly did put his money where his mouth is. He actually went in the sub. The creator sank with his ship/submersive.

Gotta respect that.
